Bro, I stepped away from the helicopter world for a year, cuz I wasn't making progress. And lack of flying areas...blah blah.
Soo...quads and tiny whoops FPV were my next move. I learned to solder, I learned a lil tuning and flying in all modes. The small size and I applied what I knew about helicopter stuff made the transition easy, so to speak. Got 30+ quads, mostly 65mm.
Why have I returned? I have learned to program my RadioMaster Zorro via UA-cam. Using the XKK100 and XKK110 as my practice helicopters, I find the game pad style controller helps a bunch! Nevermind the fact, through FPV, I learned I needed glasses....that was 50% of the battle.
Anywho, thanks for the entertaining YET very informative content. You have helped before and surely you will help again. Much love!

I've been flying heli's for a long while, I can do inverted and even slightly have my own routine. Whoever says you don't fly well is an idiot lol. And you are super modest. U can actually kill it with heli's. U are not beginner or intermediate. Mate you are an advanced pilot for sure. Im in a flight club of over 200 members, at least 50 are active weekly, 20% are heli pilots. You are as good as our best heli pilot. As always nice vid for new heli enthusiasts .

It was great that you gave an explanation how helicopters mechanically achieve positive and negative lift. That was awesome. However just wanted to point out one small detail. You mentioned the left stick controls throttle as well as pitch. That is accurate if you are on what is called "Normal Mode", however if you want to do 3D flight you need to have a flat throttle curve that keeps headspeed constant at any pitch. Basically if someone follows your advice and links the throttle to pitch and attempts to go upside down, when they are on negative pitch they motor will die out. I know that people will probably learn this when they get as far as building their own heli but people do make this mistake if they get used to lifting off on normal mode. Anyways, good video just wanted to point that small detail out.

Enjoyed the video Kevin, I have been flying for years now but only as an adult my parents could not afford them or the cars. I will say i taught myself and learnt a lot with the simulator i started with fixed pitch Piccolo a few others then Align 450 carbon around when they first started my local shop owner was a world champion who helped me move forward and into scale my first petrol was a 30 class that was like fling an RC Fly Mo lawn mower up side down and would tell anyone who does not want to get hurt find somebody that knows what they are doing and your local model shop is the best place to start but if you buy online and not from them they generally do not want to know my own local had a bench in the shop that you would take it to once built and they would check everything before you turn it on trust its worth it.

As much as I would love a good high end Helo, the Kansas wind just says no. Flying airplanes is a lot easier and due to the Aviation industry here in Wichita we have a large dedicated community. There is also a large Rc park for planes. I stick with Rc cars simply because you can use them anywhere.

28:50 that's the way i flipped the heli to inverted when i was learning, it was a raptor 50 and nose in inverted felt real easy to me, tail in inverted and side on inverted was like learning all over again but i got there eventually. Realflight 3 flight sim definitely helped as well to learn inverted flight.

Always putting out fantastic content Kevin. I have been flying collective pitch helis since I was 12 years old about 18 years now. You're always learning something new. I crashed so many helicopters in my time. I remember learning with training gear that had tennis balls on it with a nitro heli at the time. I still fly once in a while but I now prefer RC cars as it's much more relaxing, lol.

The first heli I ever bought was a blade 450 with flybar. Hated it. Bought a Trex 550E and loved it. So much more stable. Sadly the 550E suffered a BEC failure and lost all power while it was about 400 ft in the air inverted. Cracked the carbon frame and obliterated many parts. It was too far gone to bother repairing it and now it's a box of bits in the barn. Not bought another since. I miss flying helis!

You should also practice auto rotations as well. Not only are they fun when you learn to do them correctly, they could save you when the motor dies assuming you have a larger model with blades that auto well. I only do auto's on the larger models as they don't work very well on those micro heli's. When we used to have glow engines on these things, it was a must. The bottom line for learning is lot's of sim time learning all the orientations both in hover and in forward, backward, side, and inverted. You don't have do do all your maneuvers really fast either. It's much better to practice maneuvers using a smooth slower style first. Later, you can then speed everything up, but I enjoy the slow to medium speed the best.

Man the first like 6 minutes are amazing. You should do a shorter video, correct that little detail of the throttle/pitch and you would have an excellent introductory video for flying RC helicopters which I think would be very useful. One hour feels like a lot I am sure you go into detail and there are ton of good stuff but probably a shorter just introductory video would be amazing.
