Basically, you can't save Zhang Bao using Xingcai. She is tasked outside the castle so she wouldn't make it in time to save Zhang Bao. Using Guan Xing like in the video will increase your chances of completing this challenge.

Everyone has their own unique weapon...so there are not any cloned movesets.

Well, you won't get this stage for one, and Ma Su (the guy he talked to to start the stage) would have been executed.
