I feel like someone needs to point out what seems obvious:
These patterns are hard not because of how hard they are to dodge, but because the heart sprite is much bigger than a Touhou sprite. Also there is no graze, as the full heart is your hitbox. Furthermore there is no focus in Undertale, so dodging fast patterns isn't so simple.
Look man I'm a huge Touhou fan, but trying to say that all these fights are easy because they aren't in the Touhou format is pretty dumb. While I'm sure this is easier than the actual Flandre fight, you have to show some respect to the fact that there's no graze or focus for him to use.
There is a way to slow your movements.

I can't really speak for this particaular fangame, but Undertale has some pretty difficult patterns, it's just that Undertale is so generous with life that it's easier.
Of course difficulty isn't everything and both games are very good and I enjoy playing them both.

Undertale hitboxes are so wonky compared to other bullet hells...
Technically, it's the other way round, since TouHou's player hitboxes are thankfully much smaller than their sprites and the opponent ones are much bigger.
I'm referring to the bullets themselves as well. Touhou bullets generally have larger sprites than hitboxes. I think this goes for other bullet hells as well, most bullet hells have a larger player sprites than hitboxes too. This is needed in order to dodge some of the harder patterns.

Dreigonix Flandre acts way too playful and adds "-sies" to the end of a lot of words. She isn't acting 12 or 13. I recommend you check out the actual dialogue from the Canon games before you try to make dialogue. She's a lot more composed than the fandom makes her out for :/

The thing is, though, I think Flandre's actual dialog is too... _normal_ for someone like her. While there are many Touhou fanons that I don't like, I actually do prefer the cute-but-psycho fanon Flandre, even if her personality is a bit flanderized- or should I say, Flandreized. So I dunno.

She's far from being dumb or ignorant. She follows the spellcard rules. She literally never did anything bad with her ability in canon, despite having more than enough power to cause big trouble. She could make the planet explode, for example.

So this is how Americanized Flandre would be. What is the world coming to?
Judging by the most recent canonical appearances of Flan (Bohemian Archive in Japanese Red, I think), Flan seems to actually be kind of smug and bratty rather than just childish.
When Flandre escapes Gensokyo, you should sure be grateful that she sticks to the Spell Card rules, or else you'd just get crushed instantly.
But this battle is actually pretty good. I only think it probably should've been made ever so slightly less difficult to sort of level with Undertale.

Or rather, the difficulty should be more balanced. 'Cause as it stands now, the nonspells don't really pressure you all that much, so you can heal really easily, at least on Double Yandere Mode.

to be fair she's one of the most difficult characters to get an accurate portrayal of
firstly if you try to do it the non-watch videos way, you need to trade your soul to the other scarlet devil to have a hope of even accessing this one
secondly she's a character in only two of the games and does not have much dialogue to which a portrayal of her character can be faithfully gleamed
thirdly a lot of her interpretation is fan-speculated and it's hard to glean what is canon and what isnt
though i will admit, even though she's like, only 9 years old or some shit, she sounds way too young. like i dont know any kids who add superfluous extra 'se's to the ends of things and I know some pretty quirky kids
She isn't 9 years old at all, even outwardly. She looks as old as Remilia, and Remilia don't look that young in the official mangas.

The fight itself looks amazing. You did a really good job recreating the Extra Stage fight with Flandre in the Undertale/Unitale engine. Like the others have said before me, I think the dialogue could've been more respectful to canon, as _waaaaay_ too many people assume her to be a murderous, bloodthirsty psycho, as opposed to just a kid who doesn't understand her true strength or how to interact properly with people. Judging by this footage, I would say that the hitboxes on the bullets are way too large, which essentially makes micro-dodging impossible. Other than that, you did a pretty decent job.

@Shade_Guye Download any recent version of CYF and put SetPPCollision(true) in EncounterStarting. Make sure to use Retrocompatibility mode, otherwise the items won’t work.

No, that's fair. After all, this WAS the second script I made, and I wanted to put more emphasis on the danmaku, my main goal being to create a mostly-faithful recreation of the original Flandre battle. Maybe I'll return to this concept later and experiment with some more stuff.

Just beat Bloodbath without items. Basically involves abusing the heck out of the Capture=Full Health Restore mechanic, along with decent dodging skill. Also, doing it in CYF helps because of better hitboxes. Seriously. You get clipped so much on non-square bullets in Unitale, it’s not even funny.

Tbh, I feel that she is a bit too crazy on this one, where in canon she`s just a *little* unstable (and is probably my favorite version of Flandre by far). Plus, she doesnt put -ies on everything she says, you know... But again, I`m just repeating everything that other people have already said, so... yeah... XD

There IS a hard mode, Bloodbath Mode, that leaves you with lower LV.

Opinion (WARNING: I ACTUALLY KNOW SHIT):
As a person who can't stay focused enough to make a proper Unitale battle, the waves are good.
The Kagome Kagome wave isn't exactly the best, some of the bullets didn't move the right way,
and also the larger bullets only push bullets near it. Also, some of the waves
(especially the one with the lone laser) are too long for their bullet count and/or aren't accurate.
Two other problems I have with the battle are the lack of animation for Flandre's sprite
and the slow default speed. You could have easily increased the speed with custom inputs.
Overall, I give this a 7 out of 10.
Pros are the good difficulty (for undertale) and kinda accurate waves.
Cons are the lack of animation, some waves being too long and lack of good speed boost.

stuff like that.
I'm not exactly sure cuz I prefer normal Unitale.

I do use CYF. I mean, stand-alone Unitale is basically dead at this point anyway; it's been totally integrated into CYF as far as I know. XD

I just love how people are trashing on the difficulty while ignoring the fact that undertale's movement are either horizontal,vertical,or the mix of both,no free movement.the character also moves slower,undertale also have the box thing to limit your movement toward easier spots,making some patterns impossible to dodge. Undertale also doesn't have bombs,and the hitbox are much bigger compared to touhou. I've 1cc'ed hard mode lolk with equal amount of effort with beating sans.
Conclusion: undertale is easier than touhou,but not THAT much easier,at least in some areas

To all those commenting about the difficulty, here’s my take on it. The fight as a whole is pathetically easy, because you have infinite items, and if you want, you can just heal to full after each attack. The actual danmaku itself, however, is maybe about the equivalent of Normal mode Touhou, especially considering Undertale’s less lenient hitbox system and slower movement speed compared to Touhou.
Having played it myself now, some of the dumb hits you took are pretty excusable. These are some of the worst hit boxes I think I've ever seen in an otherwise competently made game. I know the reason for it, but wow they are bad, I got hit by stuff outside the arena once.
Then again, I'm an idiot and for some reason feel the need to put a self imposed item block on every game I play. Oh well.
Wait wait, Monster Hunter's hip checks. Those are pretty bad too.

I understand entirely. I've noticed some wonky hitboxes in other fan created stuff too, so I can imagine how hard it must be. Still, if this is Flandre easy mode, oh how I dread the thought of fighting her in her prime. You know, when I can find a copy of the games she makes an appearance in xD

Flandre is also still a powerful 495 year vampire with absurd magical power and strength. She also has the legendary Norse fire sword that Surtr is destined to burn down the world with during Ragnarok.

Would it have killed you to mention in the readme or in the video description how to run this? I just spent an hour trying to figure out how to run .lua scripts, downloading tons of lua interpreters, trying to execute every .lua script in these folders, and getting absolutely nowhere.
For everyone still puzzled: Download Unitale. Download this. Place the "Playtime with Flandre" folder into the "Mods" subfolder of Unitale.

You need to download Unitale first. Go to the Unitale subreddit and you can download it there.
