Will Ferrell. How does a man go from being the double of Chad Smith to Ron Perlman all in one lifetime.

This is the story I heard about how San Diego was chosen as the site for the Anchorman movie. Adam McKay, the writer/director, was all set to have it take place in Portland when he had dinner with a San Diego news broadcaster named Jack Smith. During dinner Smith told McKay outrageous stories about Harold Green, an anchor that Smith had worked with. McKay was so impressed that he decided to have the movie set in San Diego and the rest is history. If you ever saw Harold Green on screen, the resemblance to Ron Burgundy is unmistakable.

There a lot of famous athletes came from San Diego and they were featured in the Hall of Champions. Also, great players from San Diego teams like Dan Fouts, Tony Gwynn, Junior Seau, Trevor Hoffman, Bill Walton, just to name a few.

A little known fact, San Diego is home to more Heisman Trophy winners than any other city in the world (4). And for a long time, San Diego was home of the only highschool in the nation with two Super Bowl MVPs. A lot of great football talent has come out of San Diego over the years.
