Great video Pat, keep up the quality work! I recently discovered your channel and I'm hooked. I really enjoyed my separations class in school but haven't ever used the knowledge in my job... always nice to re-learn some things!
Thanks man! To be honest I don't use it much in my day-to-day work either, which is why I've been refreshing it for myself with this question about boiling off ethanol. I actually totally misunderstood something about azeotropes at school that was clarified to me recently, so watch out for what's coming up (when I get to it!)
Don't know what kind of coincidence this is! Lately I have been studying Distillation as my semister began. Now this notification danged my screen. Anyways great explanation especially why bubble point increases along the curve.
Hey thanks a lot. Yeah it is typical to do the McCabe Thiele on an x-y plot rather than a T-xy plot, but I thought I could get away with it here without complicating it too much. I have, of course, assumed equilibrium at all stages giving the minimum number of stages, but I didn't think it was critical to go down that rabbit-hole here.
Really brought the txy diagram and reality vs theory of mixtures to life with this video Pat! 👏 looking forward to the next video 👍 👍

@@ProcesswithPat definitely looking forward to the continuation of the series!

Nice! Glad we got the timing right. Stick around cos I wanna talk more about azeotropes and about “boiling off the alcohol” in food.
Excellent presentation. I particularly enjoyed how you approached the McCabe Thiele method and azeotropes.

Superb explanation of t-x diagram. Good job as always.👍
You are my favourite! I was looking forward for your next video!
No doubt this video will help aspiring chemical engineers master this key concept
Amazing video, well explained mate !
