Oh god, these mothers are sadly all too real. I know a real world example of a Mum who lost custody of her kids and since that happened she posts hyper-creepy stuff in this vein on social media. She likes to quote things her kids apparently said about how beautiful and strong she is, or how they've phoned her up just to say her love sustains them every day 🤮. Stuff that there's no way in hell a real 7 and 8 year old would ever say! When she writes greetings cards to people she always signs them as being from her "and the boys". This despite the fact she's only allowed to see them once a month and never without supervision.

I hate the story about the pizza. These kinds of stories always talk about these dirt cheap flights, which would be a loss for the airline and I don't believe are available. Even if the basic price was 19 I bet there will be overheads. Everytime I book anything on Easyjet all of the costs add up and it ends up costing more than 300 Euros. Also there will be costs like getting to the airport and costs of getting from the airport to the restaurant, because I am sure that the best pizza in town isn't at the airport. Then you have to get back to the airport again and travel after the flight home. Also I bet that as you had to travel to the airport and fly to Italy you probably would have ordered at least one cup of coffee. It is such a dishonest claim.
15 years or so ago, there used to be offers on for very cheap flights. Like £20/€25 ish. Usually jet2 or Ryanair or easyJet. Usually on the day or within a few days. Presumably to make up any empty seats? After highschool some people in my year booked flights for very cheap and went to Denmark? Or the Netherlands, I can’t remember. They had dinner and travelled back early the next morning. If you don’t pay for any luggage or choose seats, you used to be able to get random very cheap flights, so I believe it. Would be impossible now, mind you.

Even in the example you mentioned there are extra costs, like a night at the hotel. Did she also stay at a hotel and not mention it? She is not being completely honest. That is my opinion. 40 pounds for a pizza in the UK sounds high and 8 pounds in Italy sounds very low. But it made a good story. I remain skeptical. I am in Amsterdam myself and always end up paying more than 100 Euros to 300 Euros for flights to London. I never see these dirt cheap flights and I just cannot imagine you would get a return to Italy for 19 pounds. Less than 10 pounds each way. Plus think of all the travelling. One hour to the airport two hours before the flight. Three hour flight. One hour into town. Assuming you were lucky with your connections then you tavel one hour back to the airport two hours before your flight. Three hours back and the one hour home. That is 14 hours. Is one slice of pizza going to be enough for that? The fact that she couldn't just say she had pizza but it had to be 'the best in town' makes me believe it is embellished.

Today I was sitting at my local Macdonalds when I heard a voice I recognised. I turned around but, didn't recognise the person but, still had a nice chat with him. I've been in a situation where I've challenged someone who was being really obnoxious on public transport. You absolutely cannot see or take in the reactions of everyone around you in that moment. So either these people are actively looking around for other people's approval during this challenge (weird and obviously attention seeking) or at the very least they're lying about the reaction to their behaviour to make themselves out to be the hero of the hour.
I used to get fed up with people crowding round the train door ready to get on, I would give a slight twist, so my backpack would give them a clout as I pushed through.
One day it was too much, so I stood in the train doorway and gave a lecture on clearing the way, so people could easily get off first.
No idea what other passengers thought about it, I did it for me.
