For a special called Santa Claus and The Ice Cream Bunny, the Ice Cream Bunny doesn't even come him in until near the end of the special. Most of the time, it's Santa telling the story of Jack and the Beanstalk while waiting for the sled to be repaired.
Why do all these movies make Santa look like he's insane....btw why didn't that Santa ask adults to help instead of all those kids that ran in slow motion?
This may be the theatre nerd in me but, 23:21 to 23:25 "With catlike tread! Upon our prey we steal! In silence dread! Our cautious way we feel! NO sound at all! We never speak a word! A fly's foot-fall! Can be distinctly heard!"
I like what you're doing here, very meta, reviewing live riffings! And your commentary is truly additive to theirs, rather than being a "me too" kind of statement. Keep it up!
Based on your review, this became the first Rifftrax Live Show I ever bought, even though I already own the studio version of The Ice Cream Bunny. The energy of the guys at the shows, as well as the shorts and the switch-up of Thumbelina for Jack and the Beanstalk made it different enough to be more than worth it. Thank you!
Happy Birthday Faith...Thanks a lot in sharing/upload all these holiday theme Videos for us and each one is a big humorous delight every single time....esp. this one, the Thanksgiving [Fun in Balloonland], Star Wars The Holiday Special videos. By the way, Wow! I Never though there was "another story insert" to Santa and The Ice Cream Bunny that is equally more absurd and ridiculous that The Thumbelina one. But, its great the guys ab-lid in some of their unforgettable riffs/jokes from the studio version too into the Live show. In all, I will await for much more of your Rifftrax/MST3K videos in 2017.
Thank you so much, Michael! I'm so happy you've enjoyed the holiday stuff! I was really hoping they'd go over well. And yeah, who in their right mind would use TWO different middles to this of all movies?!? But, at least we can benefit from it now!
One more, Im a long time mst fan but your channel was my first exposure to rlive rifftrax. I since bought 3 live shows from rifftrax . com. I love the way you set up the segments with a quick summary, it allows you to have your (bloody hilarious ) input without threading on the guys inthemoment stuff. I hope to see more in 2017
Wow! I'm so glad I was your introduction to Rifftrax Live! :D And thank you very much for the compliments! I always hope my comments are funny enough to be entertaining and actually add something to the guys and not take anything away.
B P this was the funniest one they did the funniest holiday episodes of mst3k are Santa Claus from 1959 and Santa Claus conquers the Martians haven't seen the new seasons of mst3k don't have Netflix 😊
@@Gasoline85 I honestly felt as if he suggested to the director that he have dancers & maybe some props to make the song more interesting in the visual medium of the movie & the director just kept saying "Naaah, it'll be fine."
The filmmakers could as well have added under the "Merry Christmas" title card at 33:05 "SUCKERS! (No refunds)," given how much they completely screwed the audience over with a pointless plot like that.
Renton_Whitetail lol this live show is the funniest one they did, love the mst3k episode Santa Claus from 1959 and Santa Claus conquers the Martians they are the funniest😊
Ok so from what I've read this movie was financed by Pirates World thats right it was a real place but went bankrupt and shut down one year later and the Ice Cream bunny was unofficial mascot of the park hence why he's in the movie also the director is a MST3K Legend the director did Rocket Attack U.S.A.
I've not seen the Jack and the Beanstalk version, but based on your clips, it seems far more entertaining than the Thumbelina version of the Ice Cream Bunny. How do you feel, Faith?
I definitely like the Jack version better! I'm not sure how much of that is because it's live, but I think the Jack story is just a little less mind-numbing. The Thumbelina story is so weird and trippy, but Jack is a little more cohesive.

Sorry! I was trying to say that something with "Dragon" in the title should be awesome, but the short, as well as, HTTYD 2 are not awesome. And I actually love the first HTTYD, but the 2nd was really disappointing to me.
4:45 This was strangely the second shot at HtTaD2 I had come across in the same two weeks, though I still gotta see it. 23:09 I would only get this after having seen their **Birdemic** riff.
about 30 minutes in, when you wonder about his magical sleigh, you say it begs the question why he needed help.. that's not how that is used. don't worry everyone misuses it. it doesn't mean it leaves a question unanswered, or that it raises a question. it is a logical fallacy, begging the question is using your source to prove your source. like saying the bible is true because it says so in the bible. that begs the question. it's like ad hominem or ad populem. if you google search beg the question real meaning there's even a site devoted to clearing this up haha. good review, hilarious stuff.
I think you're fighting a losing battle even though you're completely correct. The incorrect understanding is now more common. Whether you like it or not (I dont) if you use that expression correctly you will be misunderstood by more people than if you use it incorrectly. Rather than seeing it as a loss you should see it as part of the unstoppable process that made English what it is today. Having said all that, I still not giving up on "could NOT care less". Its not even an expression for christ sake its just as simple logical contruct. Aghghhhhh. Where was I , oh yeah, dont be so pedantic.
Whoops! I cut a part where, after giving Jack the real magic beans, Honest John buys a bunch of normal beans from some kid that he plans to sell as "magic".

Ice cream bunny, that ice cream bunny, he's made of ice cream and he's a bunny

EIGHT MORE TIMES!!!
During the Jack and the bean stalk story I thought their window was a painting...
"Custard killed and ate a man. Opening his Christmas presents early on is Christmas is a minor offense"
It's the funniest movie they have ever riffed😈
"Santa never gonna give you up, run around or desert you. YOU'VE BEEN SANTA ROLLED!"
monkeymouse "Are those the Blue Meanies?"mst3k joke 🤣
"HOLY CRAP Santa is INSANE!" XD
@7:26... that is a direct quote from an Animorphs episode. What an obscure reference.
Why do all these movies make Santa look like he's insane....btw why didn't that Santa ask adults to help instead of all those kids that ran in slow motion?
My favorite riff is when Bill (?) turns Jack's song into "I'm down with OPP/yeah you know me."
This may be the theatre nerd in me but, 23:21 to 23:25 "With catlike tread! Upon our prey we steal! In silence dread! Our cautious way we feel! NO sound at all! We never speak a word! A fly's foot-fall! Can be distinctly heard!"

Yay for obscure theater references!
As Rifftrax & MST3K have taught us, obscure references are the best references!

The male giant has a decent singing voice, but his dull, expressionless face kills the performance.
He's definitely not having the goofy fun someone playing the giant in the Jack and the Beanstalk story should be having!
I've never seen anyone look so disinterested while singing an aria.
I couldn't shake his Fee Fi Fo Fum song for weeks after I left the theatre.
DULL SURPRISE!!!!!!!!!!!!
