  • It's not only our clothes that are made cheaply in India and China: our drugs are produced there, too. In these countries, materials are cheaper and wages are low. In India, pharmaceutical giant Aurobindo manufactures cheap antibiotics, psychopharmaceuticals, and painkillers for export to 150 countries.
Many low-wage countries are infamous for their lax attitude to laws governing health and safety, working conditions, and the environment. One particularly stark example of this is the lack of safety in the textile industry in Bangladesh. Under what conditions are medicines produced in India? And who pays the true price? ZEMBLA set out to investigate exactly how our cheap drugs are made.

You cannot blame a single company. There is Mylan next to it and many more pharma companies. Not only Pharma companies, but many other companies belonging to other sectors are also equally responsible for destroying the environment. Watch this : ua-cam.com/video/TAPiOJjoh58/v-deo.html

I think Jos Van Dongen overreacted in 2:45. Why isn't the camera man coughing or affected?

@ Donald Gonsalves....it's because ...like a SUPERMAN he is a CAMERA MAN!
Sorry for that...as I couldn't resist myself to respond. What were disclosed here in this particular video were bare facts and you are really worried about why the camera man was not coughing in the video? and Mr. Dongen was overreacting. I really don't know who the cameraman was but this is an edited video footage with background music and narration, there is an every possibility that the voice (including coughing and sneezing bla bla bla) of the camera man might be suppressed. But if you still want to know then why don't you come over here to Hyderabad and find out for yourself?

@@DrKSAK4Uwhat would you do if you were a Dutch company and are finding it difficult to compete with Aurobindo pharmaceuticals. You will try to sabotage the companies reputation in anyway possible as you know you can't compete with them in quality. the best way to do this is by emotionally influencing the Dutch buyers by showing them convincing documented videos without any actual proof that Aurobindo is the evil. Rest is up to you whether you want to believe it or not.

@@DonaldGonsalvesone should not predict things and ignore the facts which are put forth and for your kind information we are aware of this particular issue from past 6-7 years approximately and may be the pharma companies in Holland took this fact as an opportunity and made a documentary which is secondary. What comes in the first place is environmental pollution and exploitation of the poor people. I just shared the link in the comments section please refer to it. It's not about Aurobindo Pharma and their unit in hyderabad, we face the same scenario in our day to day life and this particular documentary video has brought this issue of Unit-7 into light and there are many such companies across the country with many lives of poor people are at stake. Only the locals and people working in these companies knew that this is the fact. All they want (the locals and victims) is proper waste water treatment and to be compliant with the regulatory guidelines and pollution free environment.
