I envy your fitness and ability to hike to these places. But I want to thank you for allowing us old timers, (I am 73 years old), to go along and see a small part of your adventures. I never realized that western Wyoming was SOOOO beautiful! Thanks again.
You probably dont care but does someone know of a method to log back into an instagram account??
I was stupid forgot the login password. I appreciate any tricks you can offer me.
@Karsyn Braydon Instablaster ;)
@Alexis Benson I really appreciate your reply. I got to the site thru google and I'm trying it out atm.
Looks like it's gonna take a while so I will get back to you later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
@Alexis Benson it did the trick and I finally got access to my account again. I am so happy:D
Thank you so much, you saved my ass!
@Karsyn Braydon You are welcome :)
I very seldom write comments but one is warranted here. If I could give this two thumbs up I would!!! That first day was insane.17+ miles with scrambling and on top of it having to set your camera and doubling up on some of the walking..... Then getting to the peak! I was freaking out just watching the video. Gorgeous scenery, great commentary. I've been watching your videos for awhile now; this is easily the best I've seen!
Thanks Bill! 17 miles in a day wouldn't be too bad if it were all on a nice trail, but it was suuuper slow going once I left it. I'm glad you enjoyed the video.
👍👍two thumbs up lol
Ditto...!!!
Great job!! Great Video!!! Thank you!!!
Thank you doesn’t come close! I know you love this and would do it without taking us, but we’d never get to see this any other way. Thanks for sharing!
Dear humbled Tristan,
Your climbing skills along with videos AND speaking voice make your adventures SO spectacular. I am infinitely impressed! And in KNOWING the serious surgeries that youve endured make viewing your journeys that much MORE incredible. May God always Be WITH you- Thank You for sharing your AWESOME gifts ⛰️🏔️🏞️👍
My favorite part was the summit. What I'd like to see is you and fellow UA-camr Foresty Forest climb a mountain together! P.s. this was my favorite video of this channel. Cinematography at its best.
That would be amazing I love both of them
How does this not have a million views? Probably my 3rd time watching it. Amazing.
Stupendous hike. Deserves 1 million views.
Thanks David!
Very, very impressive. Good for you. Gorgeous area for sure.. The untouched land is the most beautiful. Thank you for sharing! ❤️
Wind River area has some of the most ruggedly stunning views in the world.
Thanks so much for sharing your incredible experiences.
You are so hard-core, Tristan! 7000 feet of elevation gain a lot. That was treacherous-looking rock. I'm glad you have one of those Spot things.
Thanks for watching!
Your genial approach to story telling belies your skill set. That was an impressive climb
Congratulations. Much respect and love to you for your accomplishment. I am 73 and beyond capable of such quests. My respects and heartfelt thanks to your wife for supporting you in your efforts to share your adventures with us.
Amazing feat! Not envious but very appreciative that you carried us with you on that stunning climb.
You never disappoint. This may be you best video yet, what a trek.
Dude!!! Big props!!!! I think my heart stopped a half dozen times watching you slip on those rocks. Still worried you did this alone. Thanks for taking us along. Mighty spectacular!
Ps. Re the thumbs down reactions....well that's just plain bizarre.
Wow! Thank you for showing us views that I would never see in my lifetime. It's beautiful up there...like climbing into a Bob Ross painting. I was so nervous when you were near the top (I have a fear of heights, and my knees turn to jello at the 7th rung of a ladder). So impressive. Thanks again. : )
Only one word: Wow!
Thanks for watching, Mike!
The hardest hike but best views of the Rookies but treacherous indeed. Glad to know you had satellite communication. I'm 63 and when and if I can I will donate to your cause. I have been spreading the word of SUV rving to everyone about seeing the best of the West better than Nat. Gio.
Congratulations on this accomplishment! I’m glad you have an inReach device. Perhaps one day you can meet up with Foresty Forest and do a mountain trek together.
That'd be fun! Thanks for watching, as always.
Wow😱 Amazing. “Oh My God! How’s he gonna get back down!” But you did!🥳Thank you for taking us with you! 🥰
Congratulations on summiting Gannett. Thank you for taking me on the adventure with you. Spectacular!.
I stood on that same rock on the summit of Gannet Peak in August of '73 when I had just turned 20. There was more snow on the mountain but otherwise your film brings it all back. We approached it from the West as well, but further south, crossing a glacier with rope and crampons then followed a couloeur up to the Ridgeline from the south. Weather came in from the west so we had to scramble down early. Thank you for doing such a great film!
Thanks for watching! It's a great place 😁
Absolutely honestly mind blowing-all it it. How you can look at something like this MASSIVE mtn with nothing but millions of rocks, and say-“I think im going to climb that to the peak”, is beyond impressive. Hilarious-when you called your father to tell him what you’re “up to”! Wayyyy up! You’re VERY humble about the talents and gifts you possess. Thank you again for such a fabulous video.
WOW. That's amazing! I get inspired by watching you younger folks climb mountains. I just summitted Mt. Washington, NH at 70--years not inches. It was just about my limit (it may have been over my limit). I love that sun protecting item that wraps around your baseball cap. Where can I get one? Thanks for sharing this incredible journey.
1121gsm Cut my teeth on “The Rock” back in the 50’s, and several times after. Then moved West and played on the taller ones. What it lacks in altitude it makes up in fierceness.
@@buckhorntx I know what you mean by "fierceness." I've learned that altitude (for me anyway) is not as important as terrain and grade. I've done Mt. Kilimanjaro, Mt. Everest Base Camp, and Inca Trail (all of which are much higher than Mt. Washington) but they didn't turn my quads into mush. Mt. Gannett is not as tall as many Western peaks but, as Tristan said, it is the most difficult.
cup of coffee & lemon yogurt - watching this video of a good guy you tuber climbing in my favorite mountain range in N America. It’s a wonderful 1/2 hr video in the Wind Rivers of Wyoming - great work, Tristan. exalt this one, you’re very best! Lou
You were blessed with good weather in the Winds this time. Many years ago on the way to Titcomb Basin I was in the most violent lightening/ thunder storm that lasted for hours at night and the next day a fast arriving front hailed on me. Each time going to Cirque of the Towers I had either occasional rain or snow or once the Cirque was in fog. The granite reminds me of the Sierra Nevada like Whitney or the back country of Yosemite. I had the Cirque all to myself for a little over an hour the first time there so also have fond memories of the wilderness available there. You have to be prepared for the unexpected in the Winds. Thanks for perhaps your finest video.
I am definitely one of the 99% of your viewers who are much more comfortable hiking established trails and exploring less extreme locales than that climb presented. Thanks for taking me along on an adventure I would normally never consider. Great job, man. Sorry about the camera but I am sure this climb will be etched in your memory anyway.
Tristan that was very impressive your channel is exceptional very similar to forestry forest who hikes many peaks and loves climbing and adventure cycling, both of you are characters of great presence and people of outstanding character who appreciate nature and act accordingly. Many blessings to you .
That last part looked very difficult going up, I kept thinking that the trip down would be pretty sketchy and even more dangerous! Glad you made it down ok! Thanks for sharing, great video!
FABULOUS VIDEO !!! Congratulations on your summit.
My hands were sweating when you summited, I'm definitely part of the 99.9 percent of people who have no business trying something like that. Amazing for sure, but I'll wait for you at camp. Thanks for this.
I'm definitely in that 99% at 64 years old, my heart dropped when he stood up on the summit! So incredible the views. I feel like I wasted my youth!
So awesome, BUT, I would never do it. Way too scary. You did a amazing climb~
Congratulations!! What a view. Glad you made it back safely.
Thanks Bob!
BIG CONGRATULATIONS!!! Thanks so much for the awesome views!!!
Fantastic! NOW I understand why climbers climb. To climb that and also film it? Wow! Tristan, really really impressive-and beautiful!
I’m so afraid of heights that watching this makes me anxious. Thanks for sharing this with us. It’s amazing and terrifying. 🏔 🧗♀️😱 👏👏👏
Congrats on scaling that monster! No way I could do that, but it was fun tagging along, so to speak.
I loved going along with you on your climb!!! My muscles were tensed and I had a shortness of breath I think because of the high altitude....wait a minute... I never left my chair!!! lol ( little bit of humour from a 62 year old woman who use to do a bit of climbing)
You do amazing and you should be soooo proud of yourself!!! I wanted to do the victory yell with you on the peak!!!
Loved it!!!!!
Congrats on the summit. Blown away at the speed at which you clicked through those miles and vertical feet. An outstanding mix of content to boot!
All your videos are so interesting but this one was spectacular. It was riveting! Congrats on an incredible ascent, wonderful human!
WOW! Amazing accomplishment! Great job videotaping. You really captured the ruggedness & difficulty. Loved the awesome views. Thanks.
Congratulations sir!! You are amazing!! My husband and I really enjoyed watching this. 💯💯 Your fan from Thailand. 🇹🇭🇹🇭
I can't like this enough! Spectacular! And had me squirming when you were up at the summit. I would be perfectly happy just to do the first part of the hike. That river valley was breathtaking and seriously rivals Yosemite. Well done!
Wow, you are amazing and so wonderful that you share your world with us!
WOW!!!
Congratulations on this endeavor, beautiful absolutely beautiful.
Keep on keeping on brother 😎✌️
Thanks!!
Impressive! While watching this I kept saying out loud to myself "pack up that camera and use both hands on the rock scrambles!" But you made it! When I teach my grandkids simple climbing skills, I always tell them to make sure they have 3 points of contact on the rock at all times.
Thank you for making this video. It has helped me understand why the love of my life died on Pyramid Peak in Colorado back in 1983 after falling to his death on the way back down after summiting. I never really understood the passion. After seeing the beauty in your video, I now understand so much more of the calling of the mountains that took him from this life. Im so glad to know this now at age 64! Your passion has helped me greatly! Thank you!
I'm so sorry to hear that, Meca!
Bravo! Be proud of your accomplishment! I am one of those 99% that will never be able to climb that peak, so thank you for taking us along for the journey! Beautiful video!
Great video of the hike/climb up Gannett the best I've seen. You do a really god job of showing us what is involved in the hike. Really great accomplishment doing the mountain solo. Well looks like you have done all the most difficult state high points except Alaska of course. Was ok with doing this one myself until you got near the top and started the rock climbing that looked daunting. Looks like Grizzly country guess you had no encounters. Thanks for the well done video.
Thanks Mickey! Yeah, the scrambling up near the top might give a lot of people pause. It's not difficult, but you wouldn't want to slip or fall there. Yes, this is grizzly country, but I didn't see any black bears or grizzlies on this trip.
You look really tall at the summit up there! Spectacular! Yes, I'm one of 💯-1% of your audiences. Noticed that you unbuckled sternum strap and hip belt when you were river crossing. Learning many things to do in backcountry activities from you. 👀🏕🙏
I wish I could say I consciously did that, but it was just a result of needing to take the backpack off and on to put my shoes in it and take them back out 😁 Thanks for watching!
Enjoyed your adventure. My husband and I spent our summer at the campground above Warren Bridge on the Green River. We fished below Green River Lakes. We got to fish with cows close by. The momma almost lost her calf in the river. We love to watch you fish. All you need is a recipe and invite us to dinner. Lol.
A fine example of someone who is not wasting their life. I envy you.
Wow, what an incredible place. I was surprised to see what looked like a lack of wind when you summited. Seems that every time I hit the summit, I’m dealing with frigid, strong winds. Nature really cooperated on this trek. Great work!
Very impressive Tristen! Congrats on your amazing feat. Well done and thanks for sharing.
Now I understand why the Native. American tribes who frequented this area so loved it!! Gorgeous!! Love all your videos. Easily the best on thenet!! Thank you.
Your videos are our favorite on you tube!! Amazing spots you take us!! As a photographer I envy your adventures!! Be safe!
Thank you for taking me with you. The view was awesome! I've been watching your videos for years and I don't know how I missed this one the first time around.
What a scary! Awesome! Tingling Palms! Adventure. Absolutely beautiful! Once again, thank you for really great video and a wonder struck experience! I especially loved the clouds passing by while you were standing on the peak.
That was a beast of a hike! The Wind River Range is more beautiful than I knew. I appreciate the way you film these epic journeys and catch different points of view. I felt like I was standing on top and taking it all in. I loved seeing the glaciers on the opposite side of the peak. Just completely wonderful all the way around!!
Many thanks, Tristan, for taking me along on this great trek. I climbed Gannett from Elkhart Park and Bonney Pass back in the summer of 1972. Summit Magazine asked me to do a writeup on it (Nov-Dec 1972 issue) since not many were doing this peak back in those days. I wish we had done your route, lots more challenging. I'm 85 yo now, so this kind of adventure is behind me, although I still manage a peak or two near my home here in the Adirondacks. I will be checking out some of your other videos to satisfy my still active wanderlust. Happy trails!
That's still beautiful country, no matter which way you approach the peak! Thanks for watching 👍
That was really spectacular. Congratulations!
Thanks!
Thank u for showing this awesome climb. It's not something I could do. So am happy that you did it and showed us
I love the adventures you take us on! Nancy
Wow! Those views starting at 3:20 are incredible.. I need to get into Wyoming more, I live so close.
Congratulations on another summit. So awesome!
Talus - reaches the angle of repose. Trash rock is hard to climb. Such raw beauty. You are so blessed to experience this.. 🤩
Congratulations on your accomplishment! Quite the climb.
Stunningly beautiful.
👍
What an incredible video! The Wind River Range is at the top of my bucket list and I'm hoping to hike there this summer. Thank you for climbing Gannett peak and sharing your experience!
My favorite video of yours yet! Absolutely stunning. Thanks for sharing this amazing adventure with us. Now I know where my next road trip will be.
Very nice !!
Thats the area I was during the 2017 eclipse
You should be proud, we are proud of you too. Omg that last bit I was holding my breath. Congratulations. Thank you for sharing you adventures. So awesome!!!!!! Soo beautiful!!!!
You’re amazing man. Beautiful footage.
Thank you for feeding my hunger for wilderness
This is one of my favorite hiking/climbing videos 👍
WOW! That is incredible! Well done! This is definitely going on my list.
Wow!! Nothing short of amazing. How can you climb such a steep uncertain terrain, hold the camera and narrate eloquently??? Again, thank you for another amazing trip . Glad you made it back safe, that means there will be another vicarious vacation soon.
I can confirm I fall within the 99% not qualified for this, LOL. What an absolutely stunning area, thoroughly enjoyed watching this climb. Congrats on another high point!
Great Video, Great Climb! I made an ill-advised attempt in 1985 from the south, but turned back when my companion injured his ankle. This is a very demanding range and I have gotten in trouble on a couple of occasions when I tried to climb above my skill level. I took my wife there in 1992, but we stuck to the highline trail. We both enjoy your videos, especially those that can be emulated by active senior citizens. This not one is not for us, but it reminded me why I fell in love with the Wind's.
AWSOMEvideo!
I miss being able to get into such country. Sneaking quietly into my mid seventies with bad knees and hips all I can do is relive my old memories and experience new adventures vicariously through yours.
One word of caution....having experienced a few close calls with grizzlies in Idaho, Wyoming, and Montana I can tell you that being unarmed with neither bear spray nor firearm and facing a momma grizzly at spitting distance makes one feel VERY naked!
At least carry bear spray and keep it where you can get it in a HURRY!
Your life may well depend on it.
That was impressive. What a beautiful range and spectacular climb. Well done!
Thanks Ashwin!
Wow! Amazing. Thanks for all of the filming. Enjoyed this immensely.
I'm not ashamed to say that I belong to the 99% of your audience that would not want to attempt to climb this mountain - Sure did enjoy your adventure though! I climbed Mt. Timpanogos 40 years ago as an 18 y/o college student, and that was not easy even back then. Keep 'em coming Tristan!
Wow Tristan! Congrats! Over 200 mts! Great that you added Gannet to the list!❤️😀🇺🇸🚙🌏🙏
Phenomenal hike.
Yup, cross country hiking waaayyyy more difficult than hiking established trail.
WOW!
WOW So beautiful...prettier than Yosemite Valley!! Thank you so much for taking US along what an adventure. AND I would never get to see this if you hadn't made this video Hats off to you...
Thank you for taking me along. Good work
Wow! Best mountain top, so far.
Spectacular ! Well done, really exciting episode. Great accomplishment !!!
Thanks Joe!
THAT was intense!
Whoa! What a climb! I am so impressed with your narration and footage while doing what looks impossible! Well done!
I was holding my breath on that ridgeline. Good thing it wasn't windy! I'm living vicariously through you, watching in a Manhattan skyscraper.
Great video of an awesome adventure. I climbed Gannett way back in 1975 on a NOLS class. The glaciers were significantly bigger 49 years ago. Your video brought back sweet memories. Thanks
From where you pointed it out that 'skinny' lake 12:23 looked like a puddle in comparison to the surroundings. That entire range is certainly an impressive scene! Thank-you for the extra time you took to film amazing footage for us😀
Absolutely stunning abilities and scenery !!!! Thank you for sharing this adventure !!
Woah! That was incredible. Way to go Tristin. I could feel my knees go weak just watching you climb.
Yes, it is good that your content has the wide range. Even if the more experienced levels you hike are filled with good information, awesome scenery.
Wow, when you finally reach the peak, it must be a spiritual experience! I’m totally in awe just watching YOU experience it! You certainly have every reason to be proud of yourself, it truly was awe inspiring. Super fun video, I enjoyed every second. Nicely done, Tristan!!!
If I could I would give you 5 thumbs up, I would! I have seen dozens of your videos so far and this is my favorite (Though I really loved the Oregon coastline!). Impressive climbing on difficult terrain; especially while filming, but the end results were spectacular. What a view you brought us. Thank you for sharing your adventures!
Congrats Tristan. Your great video skill really depicted the the challenging hiking and climbing conditions.
Dang that WAS SPECTACULAR !!!!! The Continental Divide is so beautiful and unknown. I’m glad you were careful and safely made it back.
Wow! Incredible....thank you for sharing once again. Glad you made it down safely.
Very impressive, congratulation Tristan.
