      well, then i have to let you down.
      I would have shaking knees and sweat all over my body and probably freeze not moving another inch after i have climbed 10 feet.
      Let alone 14.690 feet to walk on that small edge.
      Great respect for people to be able to do it.
      We were allowed to climb our Cathedral on the outside past year. It is a unique Cathedral and they had put scaffolding on the outside to restore it.
      And people were allowed to go up to parts of the Cathedral that you could otherwise never go to.
      See statues and decorations up close.
      I thought it was a great idea to do and so i went.
      But after 2 flights of stairs i almost wanted to go down again.
      Even though 100's of people had already gone up, i didn't trust the scaffolding.
      But, bit of encouragement from others made me go to the top like they did.
      With shaking knees, all the way to the top.
      Which is 55 meters. (the mid part, not the tower. )@@kaspareevald2264

    Climbing noob here. How does the rope connected to the climbing partner help? If one falls, the other one will fall too? Is there anything they can do to help?

    • @kaspareevald2264
      @kaspareevald2264  3 місяці тому +1

      It's more for a continuous safety - walking in rope and keeping the line tenser when needed, hoping that this will avoid the falling climber gain momentum while stumbling. To avoid "Happening". In this case the only way would've been if to jump to another side of the edge, opposite to the faller... My opinion.

    Yea, buddy! Congratulations! Good stuff.
    I can’t imagine the tension amongst climbers on the final push to summit Everest. One looks up in fading daylight, suffering from physical fatigue, lack of oxygen, injuries, emotional duress, and sees a human traffic jam ahead of them. Compound that reality with the probability that some people in the traffic jam really shouldn’t be there; they contribute to bottle necks paying others to drag their ass up. Anyhoo...
    Congratulations, Kaspar! All the best from beautiful Vancouver, Canada!
