I was hesitant about how heavy A Sorceress Comes to Call sounded, but was pleasantly surprised by how warm and funny it could be. (It’s T. Kingfisher so it should not have been a surprise, but still.) Similar thoughts; it wasn’t quite a 5-star but made my 2024 favorites list.

ohhh i need to read a sorceress comes to call and the forest book !!!!! the stolen focus one sounds interesting at the start but man it is such a let down when these books always invariably put adhd down as a Sign of the End Times. like i was raised by an all organic mom went to montessori school no phone until i was 16 and tv only once a week, and i still had really bad adhd that ruined my life until i got proper meds and therapy (and way into adulthood ofc since my mom didn't "believe in that stuff"). some brains are just different my dudes !!!! but yeah phones are bad and google is evil for sure

Regarding books about friendship, have you heard about Friendaholic: Confessions of a Friendship Addict by Elizabeth Day?
Don't know if that's what you're looking for, because I have yet to read it, I heard this book recommended somewhere, and still haven't read it. I thought you might wanna know.
