Regarding cooking with aluminum foil ... if a person ate this everyday for 30+ years I would consider the implications of aluminum toxicity... but occasionally eating foil packs over a campfire isn’t something one should worry about in the grand scheme of things... besides that no one gets out of here alive anyways, so live it up and enjoy a foil pack meal! They’re incredibly delicious and probably healthier than most meals westerners eat 😇

If you bury them in the middle of the coals, you can cook them in half the time without flipping them.

Yeah, I know! We should have served them up on slabs of oak and hung out around the table but it was getting late and everyone was starving.

It is a lot easier, quicker and neater if you put all the food on half the tinfoil then pull the other half over the top so the two halves meet one one side. You then roll the edges as you would if it were on top. To open you simply slit the packet down the middle and you have a easy neat serving bowl.

Cabbage leaf on bottom. Let it burn . actually tastes good burnt. Lol .No need to cut up the meat , I never do. Even a nice thick filet mignon wrapped with bacon turns out great. I never turn mine . I add a small stripe of mustard on top of the foil and when it turns nice and dark brown food is done.
Ive cooked freshly caught fish, frozen hamburger patties , thawed chicken breasts. Sausage biscuits gravy cheese and eggs, omelettes etc. Etc.
Oh and with most meats I add a bit of red wine . or water, steak sauce ,soy sauce, Worcestershire sauce, etc. for those recovering alcoholics in the crowd.
    1 foil
    2 cabbage leaf
    3 potatoes
    4 carrots
    5 meat
    6 onion
7 whatever veggies you want....broccoli, cauliflower, asparagus, Brussels sprouts, green beans etc.etc.

Good call on the cabbage, we'll have to give that a shot this summer along with the stripe of mustard!

HA! Yeah, we do it up pretty rough. We CAN say we don't have any of the amenities like Internet, TV (not even antenna!), or phone. Most days there isn't even cell phone service so yeah, we're camping, ha ha!
