My grandma used to have picnics in cemeteries because she said it was so peaceful and there were a lot of pretty flowers… however, no ferrets were involved
I love cemetery picnics, too! I knew it was weird but I didn’t know it was Get-Called-Out-By-Dr.Grande weird.
@@kaboomkelly 🤣
Australians do this all the time. Cemeteries are peaceful places. I don't know why Americans make such a big deal over it.
We smoke drugs together in the cemetery and play cards on a big flat grave stone

I had to do a triple take when I heard, "he transferred $180k + with her name as beneficiary"...that's a pretty big detail. How did he have this money? Why would he put it in someone's name who claimed they weren't even in a relationship? A lot we don't know here
Considering his mental issues, how did Alex ever acquire 188,000 dollars?
Yes, most odd.

I’m so glad to hear that the cat was ok. These 2 ding dongs deserve what they got, but the poor cat was innocent.
@starphase1623 Thank you for mentioning this, I was concerned about the poor creature too. I wish Dr. Grande
had said something about the cat being o.k. What disturbed human beings! They shouldn't even be allowed to

"Less thinking, more feeling." I think this is the motto of the current zeitgeist. Thank you Dr. Grande for another interesting video!

The Western World is no longer governed by the People or even the Corporations. It's governed by The Managerial Class (ever since Blackrock got huge post-2012. It now controls $9.74 trillion, more than every country except China and the USA. This is the true "Deep State".

That's so true 😂 Dr Grande's voice puts me to sleep easily...even while listening to horrific, insane cases. His voice is calming.
How bizarre can it get? My mind is baffled. I do hope the poor kitty in the carrier was rescued. Thanks Dr. Grande for analyzing this story in a clear, compelling manner. What in the world gets into some people?
Yes, the kitty went to his parents.
I hope the cat didn’t freeze to death and someone kind adopted him😢🙏
I was wondering about the cat too. The poor thing was the only creature that did not choose to put itself in a stupid position.
Lets hope someone adopted him
@@nl-ho4wm I read up on this a little. It was a friend of Stevens that found the car, pack, and the cat. The article said he took the cat to Stevens' parents. Hopefully, it was homed somewhere. That person also talked about how Stevens loved animals, but the year before he had also left a dog in a cage at cemetery where he used to hang out. And the checkered tablecloth and ants! 🐜🐜🐜
But did the kitty in the carrier survive?
Hope it wasn't part of that ritual. :(
My question also...hope the kitty survived their madness
His friend found it. His sister and friend were looking for him before Megan called 911.
I'm almost disappointed that Megan didn't blame the murder on the ferrets! That would have rounded-out this carnival of events quite nicely.
Theres so many weird drugs out there now that pathologists have to know to look for that "no drugs detected" doesn't mean much. Some of those drugs also make people weird, weirder than we usually are. And I also hope the cat was ok.😼
I went to highschool with this girl. She was totally normal then. Participated in martial arts and won awards. Put on a presentation in front of my science class once
I don't know how much consideration should be given to my character testimonial being merely a weightroom friend so I was not privy to anything intimate or detailed but what I do know of her immediately preceding, but she was totally normal then too in fact I would have given her a glittering character testimonial. She was extremely likable and the catalogue of her detail retention about what was just small talk I know pretending to have friendly curiosities alone means little, but because she was the initiator in her very friendliness and the manner in doing so I was under the impression it was entirely genuine. I was (at first) so thoroughly confident she could not have done it that I felt comfortable making edgy jokes to her about it I think I said one of the times that he undervalued her as a romantic prospect because "talk about a 'ride-or-die' girl you can't more ride-or-die than that!" she took very little offence to that joke notably she was not indifferent she just gave me a really calm sorta valley girl cadance'd "you are such a douchbag." It hits totally different now but that is just how confident I was in her character at the time. When I learned the actual extent of laceration on his neck, I then knew she was guilty of something, but I didn't and still do not conceive of that being murder I mean she had already had convictions for assisting in suicide in light of that murder 2 feels redundant and excessive. I think the throat injury was a coup de grâce.

Mixing severe mental health issues with religion can sometimes become a toxic concoction of disturbing behavior.
@Whatapp249 SCAMMER
Without people with severe mental problems there would be no religions
Mix religion with anything and it always ends up weird.
I can attest to this as I have a close family member that's an untreated Schizophrenic and religious. Very "out there".
Yes adding delusions together leads to exponential outcomes. Adding the delusion of religion to a person's life has negative outcomes in general. Pretending doesn't actually solve problems, sadly lol.
I hope the cat was okay! 🐈
That was my main concern too
Me too!!
Poor kitty: outside in January !!
My exact immediate concern 🙏
Alex's friend Steven found and took care of it
Meghan is possiblity a highly manipulative Narscissist that talked Alex into something bizarre. It's just to weird he chose to sign his finances over to her yet tell his friends he had other ambitions. Struggling with alcohol possibly made it easier for him to be manipulated.

Doesn't it seem more like a suicide-pact situation? Dousing the car, shed clothes, etc.
If that was the case and I had to choose which of the two was the instigator in such a hypothetical situation, Megan would be the one to escalate Alex's already unstable state of mind. Their pairing was unwise in hindsight, but some personalities are drawn together to disastrous consequences. It is a fact of life
"Their pairing was unwise in hindsight, but some personalities are drawn together to disastrous consequences."
Right? They could easily have been a "natural born killers" type couple.
I am shocked she didn't claim self-defense; i am shocked she didn't claim he wanted to kill them both so she had to kill him instead.
No because he would have left his money to someone else.
I wondered about a suicide pact as well.

Thank you so much for daily doses of "reality check" But I have to ask, "How are you able to keep your own sanity seeing and analyzing all this madness?" Praying for your well-being. ♥

He said they were not technically dating -- calling card of someone who cant get rid of a psycho with a personality disorder
Yet she ended up being the murderous psychopath.
I care more about that poor innocent cat than I do 2 big dumbazzes
Sounds more to me like maybe they were planning some ritualistic double suicide and she either got cold feet or just didn't die from the fall. Then after he was severely wounded she killed him. Who knows though this situation is crazy
Why wouldn't she just leave? He wouldve died from exposure anyways, either way she killed him and deserves prison
@@vicvega3614 True. But I hope she's also getting therapy in prison and she can recover from her obvious disturbed state...
Exactly what I was thinking.
Incisive easy listening, insightful criticism, opinions & observation, puns a "dad joke" would disown, wild dead pan wit -infrequently hilarious, clang-associative structured poetically ironic summaries, and absolutely freakish situational awareness & self-awareness inestimably beyond "normal" scales such as what may be considered adept and inept. Good evening Dr Grande, excellent analysis. What a bizarre case. As always I learn something new from your videos.
Have a wonderful Memorial weekend.
If she smiled at her family it's because she's being deceptive! Or maybe she just found a moment of comfort seeing them there to support her?
Always weirds me out when the jury draws conclusions based on the emotional state of the defendant....
I thought that VERY thing when that was stated. I thought to myself how does anyone know if it was a smirk as if she was saying she just manipulated the jury with her wonderful acting...or could it have been when she saw her family she just felt the need to smile since she sought comfort in them? That seems like a more plausible explanation...I too am not comfortable with the way police and juries make crucial judgements based on people's reactions in traumatic situations.
Like when investigators are suspicious of a person because they don't seem upset when they find or are informed of a loved one's death.
Some people don't show emotions to others much. I could come home and find everyone dead, and I would be deadpan while the police and first responders were there. I would only break when alone. So under this logic I would appear suspicious..
I thought about that as well (it could've just been the extreme stress & nervousness). .. but maybe that was their suspicion because of their overall perception of her... Dr G mentioned that the jury didn't buy her testimony either. ... Sometimes people make the wrong conclusions.. but what's also true is that most jurors/people can generally smell bullsh*t 🤷 (it's hard to say without watching the whole trial ourselves).
@@Bloodbain88 same. I exhibit emotionless responses. Some people find me suspicious of things sometimes because of that. But like you, I do have emotions, but like to express them in private. It's just the way I am.
Do you encounter people treating you suspiciously sometimes? Just curious.
@@38201013 Not really suspiciously, but I get the feeling sometimes that people feel awkward around me, because I don't feel the need to constantly talk.
I've had people think I was angry because I wasn't saying much.
For everyone wondering; the cat was eaten by a coyote, Male, 3 years old. He's currently doing 15 months to life for catslaughter.
Not convinced she’s guilty of second-degree murder? The good doctor might be losing his edge. I think that the part where she sawed his head off was the convincing part. I guess I can’t be exactly sure how he fell off the cliff, but then she tried to saw his head off. I doubt that was a random head sawing offing opportunity She does not dispute that she was wielding the knife. There is absolutely no reason to think anyone else was in the area. Again, the key fact seems to be the undisputed sawing offing.
Oh my goodness two totally bizarre people, I know Alexs death is not funny but I really did have to laugh about picnicking with ferrets in a cemetery 😅 and meghan saying her finger prints might be on the knife 😮

This happened in my neck of the woods, I live between Cumberland and Frostburg. It is my belief that she killed him for the money. I think she planned the whole thing, the hike, the weird ceremony all if it including killing him that day. She played on his desire to be more "spiritual" luring him to his death and helping him on that journey.
My daughter went to Frostburg 🥶. I can’t imagine how cold the temp actually felt like!

If it had been a cactus, 🌵 you would have told us already...
He’s keeping the whereabouts of the cat a secret. Perhaps it’s in the witness protection program.
Whoa! 😮 This has similarities to the Ezra McCandless case. 😢
But did the cat in the carrier survive??
What about the kitty???
The act of slicing one’s throat is horrific! I saw a video of the journalist who was beheaded by middle eastern terrorists in Afghanistan or Iraq during the US’s armed conflicts in the early 2000’s. The video was posted on UA-cam by the insurgents, and the first few minutes were shown on the news. The sound of the man aspirating from his throat being cut was so unsettling that it haunts me to this day. You couldn’t see the actual violent scene, but the sound was audible for just a moment, then it cut to the image of the man’s head placed on his chest.
All that being said, the likelihood of someone doing this to themselves is infinitesimally low… I think the girlfriend did it, who knows why… It’s sickening to imagine that someone would be capable of such violence and gore.
Hypothermia can onset quickly, I have really bad circulation and can have it come through in 45 minutes once anything gets wet and that could be sweat… I don’t think the fact this chick was suffering from hypothermia means she didn’t try to kill him at all, could just show poor planning and lack of experience with being in nature…
I recommend the Appalachian Mysteria podcast they did a whole series on this case

If I said it once, I've said it a thousand times, never go anywhere high for the "view", unless the place you want to "view" is where you die.
I agree with the good doctor's theory, I think that sounds very likely. I'm also wondering if it was possibly a mercy killing. Perhaps she found him so horribly wounded at the bottom of the cliff- and his suffering was so great- killing was- she felt- her only option.
A;ways be wary of individuals who practice ferret-enhanced picnics.
What happened to the cat? 1:49
Is the cat okay?
If this were just murder, there wouldn't have been any weird behavior leading up to the incident. She would have just lured him out to go hiking and then pushed him off the cliff. If that failed she might have followed up by striking him with a rock to make his wounds look consistent. But it sounds more to me like they had a suicide pact and she chickened out after helping him die, and then afterward tried to get away with her part in it altogether.
