Why is no-one mentioning the awesome midfield tackling of Josh Dunkley. He is the one who is most responsible for shutting down the 3-headed midfield beast of Sydney that was supposed to do the job at this Grand Final. No denying Neale's inhumanly clean hands and ability to clear a ball out from inside, but Dunks shut it down every time Heeney, Gulden, Warner, Rowbottom, or Grundy got it in their mits.
Joe Daniher had some “shocking moments”? I don’t know which grand final these guys was watching. Sure he missed a few but also setup numerous goals for his teammates and let’s not forget the lions wouldn’t be here if it wasn’t for his two clutch goals in SF.
All uncontested marks in our forward 50? You obviously watched a different game than me, I was there logan morris, joe Daniher, cam Rayner, all took great contested marks. It was as simple as this Sydney was overated didn’t finish in the 8 last year so they had a much easier draw gave them the wins they needed so when it came to playing a top class team in the biggest game of the year they were not good enough 😊
Have a look at what happened to Brisbane when they didn't have access to home grown academy talent. There was the go home 5 in one year alone. Lack of success during that period was probably a factor, but how can you breed success if you are having to build a new list every season? Having home grown academy talent helps to keep stability and build a list around.
Great effort both side to get to the Grand final, Brisbane just wanted the game more, more effort more tackles more goals, Over by half time. Sydney had no answers even after when interviewed they didn’t know what happened.
Ok, I get it about shaking hands with the kids hanging the medals, but it sounded like a beat up of Cam like he lost the game by abusing an umpire blah blah. I thought this pod was a CELEBRATION, NOT A WHINGE!
So no father son have never played for Carlton? Ever heard of Silvagni? Why is it ok for the premiership team Collingwood to have two father son players called Daicos but it’s an unfair advantage of an interstate side to have two brothers called Ashcroft?
Can we ease up on the negativity towards the Academies? Do any of the southern states (or WA) understand the school pathway opportunities in QLD and NSW? The quality of school and club football through to U17s in southern states is SO FAR HIGHER than the northern counterparts. It will be years, decades even, before QLD and NSW school football resembles anything near the quality of VIC, SA or WA school footy. The Academies exist to give more high-quality opportunities to school-age footy players - which many would argue is a competition that still pales into comparison with VIC,SA or WA school footy - but in some ways helps give more opportunities to players from QLD or NSW.
@ I’ve been a lion supporter for seventy years, to be the gold standard is a statement used in the stock markets and banking world. It means to be the one every body looks up to and compares yourself to, to be the one everyone considers the best. The lions have not been this in the last six years. They were 13th on the ladder. Hardly the gold standard six years ago five years ago four years ago. Silly statement.
Your comments at the start are amazing for its ignorance. To say there is an un fair advantage for interstate clubs with “father son” and academy plays. It’s brisbane first premiership for 21 years. Your only saying that because Ashcroft won norm smith. Brisbane played 13 interstate games, Collingwood played 14 games at the G 5 at Docklands & you say Brisbane have an unfair advantage.

Literally said he had good and bad moments
Sydney’s can only pressure when the Lions invite it. Their low pressure was surely a result of elite play by the Lions.

Overrated? They were almost undefeated for 3/4 of the season with a 150% margin. They are just the worlds biggest chokers.
@@DMGC529 They lost to Richmond during the first half of the season and then to lose by 112 points to Port Adelaide. The signs were there.
13:30 don’t think the bombers have made the prelims in the last 15 years….
He hasn't done his homework at all. Essendon haven't won any final for 20 years.

“Over the last 15 years every team has made a prelim bar Gold Coast” bruh the dons haven’t won ‘A’ final in 20 years
“It was the most Joe Daniher game…”
Perhaps Joe is considering retiring to get away from the stupidity of this particular cliche? 🤷♂️

Champion Data: the art of picking quotes that make you sound clever in retrospect
All three of them tipped Brisbane to win. The dude on the left even tipped Ashcroft to win the Norm Smith medal
@@RetroBackslash I did that without champion data…how many of them picked Brisbane to beat GWS or Geelong?

Went to the draft to rebuild the list from the cellar - as opposed the Carlton trying to load up again and again. And failing again and again.

How could that be the least amount of games won after 10 rounds since 2000 for a premiership team when Essendon only lost 1 game the whole year?
That’s since CD started recording stats
Brisbane have not been the gold standard team of the last six years what a ridiculous statement to make man sitting in the middle.
Umm why was that statement so ridiculous when they have won more games than anyone else?

Get these lads some makeup this lighting is strong
The AFL kid handing the medals is great entertainment.
3:35 that guy was such a debby downer. Totally threw off the celebratory vibes
Agree. And they're all nameless. That's gutsy!
38 min in and still talking about sydney
Said the same thing about Zorko’s AFL kid.
