really enjoy your content. quite question. i model in 1/144 scale buying 3D printed models, sometimes they come without props and just spinners, any suggestion to improve a more realistic look? i seem to remember the use of clear styrene disk but haven't found any on the market anywhere.one more any suggestion where to find us usn unit emblem wet slide decals in 1/144 scale? hard to find. in advance thanks for the advice. prost!!
I like how you don't overdo the chipping and weathering. The subtle look you went for was perfect! Which Me109 kit in 1/32 would you recommend? I have intermediate skill level.
Thank you very much - I appreciate it! And honestly I don't usually build in 1/32 scale... but Trumpeter & Eduard have some nice 109 offerings there! 👍
Very nice build and camo scheme! Besides the BF-109 is one of my favorite planes! You spray the Ammo paint out of the jar or you thin them? What pressure did you use for the base coat and for the camo? Thanks!
Thanks so much! The AMMO paint works well right out of the bottle. I just pour a little in my airbrush & I'm good-to-go! I usually use around 22psi, but sometimes I'll go up or down a bit depending on how the paint responds. Happy building! 👍
Well, Does this work? I wanted to try the same thing but was told that Gauzy agent isn't a clear coat product, But something that you'd spray over a clear coat to enhance the shine?
Very nice build and livery. I'm more of an armor modeler, but occasionally build a plane now and then. I can never decide on how to paint the wheel wells. I guess if the kit doesn't specify a color they should be the same color as the underside? Or should I paint it the same color as the interior of the cockpit?
Thanks! And it depends on the aircraft type, but you're right that it's often an interior color. With 109s & other Luftwaffe aircraft, I often just leave the wells the same color as the underside, though - it's pretty close 👍
HI Hank great video, but can you tell your source for the Flory washes, the 2 companies I googled didn't have them and the FloryPM site is a UK store and doesn't ship over the pond.
Beautiful 109. You've inspired me now to dust off my 1/48 ME 109-E7 by Eduard. I hope that Eduard is half as good as the Tamiya kit. BTW, Yours is an E3. What's the difference between that and an E7? After close inspection, they look identical; I can't find any slightest variation.
Awesome - that's great! Happy building 👍 And there are a few differences between the E-3 & the E-7. The E-4 (which came between those two variants) had a slightly modified canopy & upgraded armament. The E-7 got a new, more-powerful Daimler Benz engine & could carry an external drop tank or bomb for the first time in the 109 line, extending its range considerably.
Yes! I always apply a clear gloss coat both before AND after applying my decals before moving on to any weathering. It's key to make sure that both varnish coats cure completely before moving on to the subsequent step to ensure any weathering products don't affect the clear coat. Also, be sure to allow the decals to dry & settle completely before covering them with a gloss coat to avoid any silvering. Hope that helps!
Thank you very much! It's an awesome product from bulldogmodels.co.uk - Chris makes some fantastic 3D printed modeling equipment & accessories. Check it out & let 'em know Hank sent you! 👍
I'd say he's pretty close - I've examined a 109G-14 near me & I came up to just about the cockpit standing next to it. It's definitely a tiny bird compared to most of her contemporaries, but I think Ultracast did a good job with this Mölders figure 👍
WOW! Great tips, half the work is the painting.
I agree with David. Less is best. So many people over due weathering. Great job and very clear video.!
Thank you! I appreciate it!
Love it! I'll be working on my very first aircraft. Always did cars but really want to try something new! Thanks for the tips!
I really appreciate you builders that do these builds and paint tutorials! Keep them coming 🏆👍
Will do! Thank you for watching! 👍🍻
OUTSTANDING, one of the best I've seen. Verlinden would be proud of you.
Thank you very much! I really appreciate it 🍻♠️
Really nice work! Thank you for sharing!
Very easy watching and learning techniques of model building...SUPER JOB...Thanks.
Thanks so much! Glad you enjoyed 👍
Outstanding
Great build the video is very good as well.
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed - thank you for watching! 👍
As an armor modeler myself, I found this very interesting. Learned a few new tricks!!! Thanks.
Great! I'm so glad - thanks for watching!
Awesome work
Really very nice job with everything. Keep them coming.
Thank you so much - I appreciate it! 👍
I guess it'll do. :) Nice work, dude, as always!
Haha thanks man! Appreciate it! 🍻
Excellent video. Very realistic and without exaggerations. Do you have a video where you teach how to paint the pilot?
Awesome video! Keep it up!
Thanks so much! I appreciate it 👍
awesome 👍
Thanks for the video. I have the BF109E-4/7 coming soon. Where did you get the stand?
Outstanding.....🍻🍻😎thank you ..
Thank you very much! Thanks for watching 🍻
May I ask what you used to do the "engine exhaust" weathering? Airbrushed on, or used some type of pigments?? Thanks! Great work.
Thanks!
Oh thank you so much! I really appreciate it!
What’s the airbrush you use and what do you use to mask off the clear parts like the windshield for the me -109?
Peeling off the canopy masks are like a box of chocolates you never know what your going to get lol looks amazing!!
Right! haha it's always an experience. Thanks for watching!

I use Vallejo air paints, and shine with gazuzy gloss, can I use tamiya accent over the gazuzy gloss without eating my paints?

@@SpruesNBrews Thank you!
👏👏👏👏👏
Nice job! Where did you get your Flory Model washes from?
Thank you! I picked mine up from the High Altitude Hobbies site here in the US 👍
@@SpruesNBrews Thanks. I need to give them a try.
HI Hank great video, but can you tell your source for the Flory washes, the 2 companies I googled didn't have them and the FloryPM site is a UK store and doesn't ship over the pond.
Thank you! The US supplier for Flory products is a site called High Altitude Hobbies - I think that's the only place you can get them in the States 👍
@@SpruesNBrews Wow you read my comment...thank you...I made an order from there..you do great work and produce great videos thank you.

Do you apply another clear coat after putting on the decals and before weathering? I am a bit worried I might ruin the decals.

Thank you for your fast answer. It certainly helps, as do your video's. I subscribed to ypur channel.
Wow!! That looks amazing! Where did you get that black stand you used when priming?
Thank you very much! It's an awesome product from bulldogmodels.co.uk - Chris makes some fantastic 3D printed modeling equipment & accessories. Check it out & let 'em know Hank sent you! 👍
@@SpruesNBrews I definitely will. Thank you!
How do you stop the paint drying on the needle?
Nice. But that figure is very underscale. Look at photos to see how small the Bf109 was.

No Haken Kreuz. Lost originality due to prejudice
Please elaborate on that... because I'm having a really hard time wrapping my head around this comment. Prejudice against whom??
