The main issue I see is that one of the challenges Invictus is facing is Harry and Meghan using the games as a personal celebrity platform, rather than focusing on the athletes and the events. This just feeds that problem. If they wanted to honor Invictus, they should give the award to the Fiundation. Not the games patron

As an American veteran I'm disgusted by the decision of giving such an honorable award to some quitters, an ex royal from another country, who haven't accomplished anything in his life. Even while serving in Afghanistan he was having fun and played video games while being babysat by true servicemen. His visa status is questionable. He mocks the US Constitution. He plays very creative but not so honest games to avoid paying taxes. He allowed his first wife turn a veteran event into a INGRIFTERS GAMES, a very expensive red carpet PR stunt. He is clueless about servicing others and dedication. He might be a guitar hero but that's pretty much it.
I am also a US Veteran (disabled) who provided medical support for the 1st Ranger Battalion. I am offended that Harry would actually accept this award. We recently saw World War II veterans that are still alive and appeared at the 80th Anniversary of D-Day, These men deserve recognition for their service this year - right now - they may not have another chance for recognition.

H is, and always will be, part of the family (however unpopular). He will always be a Prince (unless this is legally removed). He will always be King Charles son. However, he can be blocked from appearing at official functions etc and working on the monarchs behalf as a 'working' royal (not an official term, but widely used and nicely explanatory). Unfortunately H's behaviour has been reprehensible, but King Charles may want to keep his options open in case of an unlikely change from H, including genuine remorse. As far as M is concerned, I think that door is quite rightly closed.
He's a member of the family by birth (although some question that). Regardless, that doesn't mean he'll automatically be received as such based on his behaviour. He's done everything he can to burn those connections while at the same time trying to monetize it. I think the word is hypocrit.

It's not a military award per se, it's for sporting people who have shown great dedication and work for the benefit of others and is nit limited to US citizens a British soccer player won it in 2019 and there was not outcry about that, it's the fact that someone as undeserving as Harry was award the the honour.

The award is not coming from the Tillman Foundation. Nothing would be on that website, and it has its own awards. He is getting an ESPY award from ESPN which is supposed to go to someone involved in sport. It does not have to have anything to do with veterans. It has everything to do with sport. I assume that H&M can't legally be stopped from coming back to the UK (quite rightly), but the family would have the ultimate say on whether they could come back as 'working' royals, representing the monarchy. I assume that the majority of the public would not support this return, given their behaviour since they left the UK.
I think that's where it gets interesting. I'm not a lawyer or a constitution expert, but there might be an issue with British people being subjects as well as citizens. So can the Crown actually deny a subject a right to live in the UK, or would would he still have the right as a citizen? I guess it might be a case of making it clear he would be unwelcome, but then if the US refuses to renew visas or expels him for visa irregularities, where would he live?

I signed the petition as soon as I heard about this. If H were still part of the RF would he have been offered this award? No. Would his advisers have told him to accept it, if he had? NO. There's the answer for me - he doesn't deserve it and he should decline, if he had any decency.
It is not up to H&M to decide if they could become working royals again, it is up to the monarch to decide if he wants them to represent him officially at functions domestic and international. This would also have to be endorsed by the government. Based on their behavioural track record since leaving, it seems extremely unlikely that this permission would be given by either party.
If Harry winds up with the Pat Tillman award - it will, hopefully, NOT lower people's opinions of Mr. Tillman - but, their opinion of a prince who has shown no sense of honor or duty to family or country.

As an American veteran I'm disgusted by the decision of giving such an honorable award to some quitters, an ex royal from another country, who haven't accomplished anything in his life. Even while serving in Afghanistan he was having fun and played video games while being babysat by true servicemen. His visa status is questionable. He mocks the US Constitution. He plays very creative but not so honest games to avoid paying taxes. He allowed his first wife turn a veteran event into a INGRIFTERS GAMES, a very expensive red carpet PR stunt. He is clueless about servicing others and dedication. He might be a guitar hero but that's pretty much it.
It really is a slap in all IS veterans faces. Bunker Harry deserves nothing.

I am also a US Veteran (disabled) who provided medical support for the 1st Ranger Battalion. I am offended that Harry would actually accept this award. We recently saw World War II veterans that are still alive and appeared at the 80th Anniversary of D-Day, These men deserve recognition for their service this year - right now - they may not have another chance for recognition.

H is, and always will be, part of the family (however unpopular). He will always be a Prince (unless this is legally removed). He will always be King Charles son. However, he can be blocked from appearing at official functions etc and working on the monarchs behalf as a 'working' royal (not an official term, but widely used and nicely explanatory). Unfortunately H's behaviour has been reprehensible, but King Charles may want to keep his options open in case of an unlikely change from H, including genuine remorse. As far as M is concerned, I think that door is quite rightly closed.
He's a member of the family by birth (although some question that). Regardless, that doesn't mean he'll automatically be received as such based on his behaviour. He's done everything he can to burn those connections while at the same time trying to monetize it.

Having left their behaviour towards to Queen \ particularly as Prince Philip was dying and all their subsequent behaviour and devalued themselves, the Royal family and UK by bring it into disrepute. So following their hissy fit to Canada, which was about a six week holiday for Christmas they were hoping to gain control over their royal narrative, to be half and half out for which the Queen said no. There were other options, allegedly to have joint Regency & be made King and Queen of the Commonwealth, perhaps Scoobies ''ENDGAME'' is a very fitting end to Harry and Meghan's expectations. Personally, I'm done with them. Could they really be trusted? They have been gone over four years. Of course Harry has a right to return with his family, but never as a working Royal they have devalued the office of a working royal. The award is not coming from the Tillman Foundation. Nothing would be on that website, and it has its own awards. He is getting an ESPY award from ESPN which is supposed to go to someone involved in sport. It does not have to have anything to do with veterans. It has everything to do with sport. They claim it is because of Invictus, but he is JUST the patron. It was given to him for something to do. The Royal Foundation and not Harry founded Invictus, stolen from the Warrior Games. He absolutely does not deserve this award as he is not Invictus, he does not even raise money for Invictus, he and his wife just spend Invictus money. It is disgraceful to associate Pat Tillman - a man who left celebrity for duty with Hazbeen - a man who left duty for celebrity.

I assume that H&M can't legally be stopped from coming back to the UK (quite rightly), but the family would have the ultimate say on whether they could come back as 'working' royals, representing the monarchy. I assume that the majority of the public would not support this return, given their behaviour since they left the UK.

I think that's where it gets interesting. I'm not a lawyer or a constitution expert, but there might be an issue with British people being subjects as well as citizens. So can the Crown actually deny a subject a right to live in the UK, or would would he still have the right as a citizen? I guess it might be a case of making it clear he would be unwelcome, but then if the US refuses to renew visas or expels him for visa irregularities, where would he live?

I signed the petition as soon as I heard about this. If H were still part of the RF would he have been offered this award? No. Would his advisers have told him to accept it, if he had? NO. There's the answer for me - he doesn't deserve it and he should decline, if he had any decency.

It is not up to H&M to decide if they could become working royals again, it is up to the monarch to decide if he wants them to represent him officially at functions domestic and international. This would also have to be endorsed by the government. Based on their behavioural track record since leaving, it seems extremely unlikely that this permission would be given by either party.
If Harry winds up with the Pat Tillman award - it will, hopefully, NOT lower people's opinions of Mr. Tillman - but, their opinion of a prince who has shown no sense of honor or duty to family or country.

I don't think the Windsors were treacherous. He couldn't help who he fell for, like Harry, it's about parenting and really not much else. The "spouse" isn't the problem, it's the fact that neither saw what everyone else did. King Edward just felt as king he should be able to marry who he wants and still be King, a d w/zero chance of continuing his royal line of succession. I think he would have carried out his Royal responsibilities satisfactorily. Harry never had any perception he ever had any.
