- Can we catch a BIG Fish on these outrageous Fishing Lures? We're fishing a beautiful wild lake on a small boat, fingers crossed we can make some magic happen! Pike fishing is always great fun, especially lure fishing for pike, especially at this time of year! It's very rarely easy though, especially fishing some crazy lures like this. We split our time between using normal lures and some ridiculous ones, to see if we can catch on the riodiculous while also giving us a chance to target some of the big pike that live here!
As always, thank you very much for watching! If you enjoyed this video please consider subscribing and checking out another one of my videos, I really appreciate it! Let me know what you think of the video below, and importantly, would you like to see me try this challenge again and film a part 2? Don't forget to drop a like too if you can, every little helps!
Don't forget to stop by @pikeandperch next week to watch Isaac's version of events, along with some really cool unseen footage (particularly the underwater stuff!)
You can get 5% off the travel rod I used here using discount code AFUK5 available from: riggedandready...
I think you shouldn't show what happens before the video starts it spoils it
I'll take your comments on board thanks for the feedback!
Bit rude, good video
But I do think you should have floatation jackets on ice cold water and a rubber boat, sharp hooks, pop, psssssst, glug glug glug
hmmmn
We had a repair kit with us, I'm confident in my swimming ability too! Everyone needs to be comfortable with their degree of risk and I am 👍
Must be Nobvember.
Looks like I missed Cocktober
haha I enjoyed this comment a lot
Beauty spot there. I would campout on that island and fish all the next day. You fellas got some nice pike there. And a great video. Beautiful lake and scenery.
Thanks for watching the video mate, much appreciated! Really nice spot isn’t it 👍
Great video from a memorable session 🍆🦈 Looking forward to the next one 🎣
Oh absolutely! Can't wait for the next trip out 👍
I am a Canadian and have watched a few of your videos as well as some from other UK creators as I am curious to the species of fish available there. You appear to have a few species not available in my massive country. First, to those viewers of yours I would like to say, barb less hooks are the way to go. I am 65, been fishing since I was five, and spent the first two thirds of my life using barbed hooks. I have not lost any fish because of barb less hooks being used, and as I am a sports fisherman, catch and release has been far more friendly to the fish I catch, especially pike who have a tendency of swallowing my lures. I would recommend the use of Forceps, not pliers as the best method to securely grab your hook for removal. I do have one question though. I have seen yourself, and another UK creator manually flip the bail on your spin reel, something I have never needed to do. Appears both of you were using a reel that at least by colour, looked to be the same brand, why? I use both spin and bait caster as well as fly rods, most older than you, and like yourself, just enjoy being out there. That's it, hopefully you see and read this and of course, reply to my inquiry. Almost forgot, I am envious of the size of Perch you have there. Last time I saw a 3 pound perch, I was 15.
Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment! Yeah with spinning reels you need to flip the bail arm over, a bit confused about your question as I don't recall ever seeing one that does it automatically! Are you thinking of baitcasters that don't require anything to be flipped over?
Great vid and entertaining as always.
Still pretty new to spinning and couple of weeks ago I set my new PB at a 5lb pike.
Got a question though, do you reel in different ways for each type of lure?
Maybe a good idea for a video as every day is a school day 😊
Thanks for watching! Yeah different lures have different retrieves, many work effectively just on a straight retrieve too
Enjoyed that mate, what a stunning place, good to see you using the fire tiger 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Thanks a lot again mate it’s excellent, they both are!
That made me laugh putting on a foreplay before the big daddy 😂. Another great video. Nice calm conditions for you.
Haha funnily enough I hadn't even made that link myself 😂 Yeah we were definitely lucky with the weather!
Nothing like payment for being late lol 😂. Nice place to fish great job lads 😊😊
Haha yeah had to make him pay the price!
reppin the OG bongs merch
Haha yeah it's definitely vintage!
Could have been a mink hole or otter holt. For future reference, If there is scent similar to lavender or violets (with a hint of fish) around the entrance, it's a sign it's an otter holt. Could also have been a badger set entrance as they are very strong swimmers and known to make homes on islands.
Thanks for the information I'll see what I can smell next time!
Caught many trout on something the same shape
On the metal spoons? I've used those before
