@weatherby has truly outdone themselves with this one. One of the highlights of the Weatherby 307 is its Alpine MDT lightweight HNT26 Chassis System. This purpose-built hunting rifle chassis is a marvel of engineering. It offers all the advantages you expect from a chassis system, such as v-block bedding, adjustable length of pull, adjustable comb, and compatibility with AICS magazines. Made from a magnesium alloy stock and carbon fiber components, this chassis is both lightweight and durable, weighing in at just 26oz. It even has a foldable buttstock for easy storage and an integral ARCA rail on the forend for quick tripod attachment.
The Weatherby 307 comes in a variety of options to suit every hunter's preference. From the historic magnum cartridges that Weatherby is renowned for to some of the most popular cartridges on the market, you'll find the perfect fit for your needs. Whether you're a fan of the 6.5 Creedmoor, the 7mm REM, or even the .300 WIN, the Alpine MDT has got you covered.
Not only is the Weatherby 307 packed with fantastic features, but it's also compatible with most after-market 700 platform parts. This versatility makes it one of the most open platforms in Weatherby's lineup, allowing you to customize your rifle to your heart's content.

Geese, why all the haters? At 8.5 k views ,it conforms this rifle is wicked sweet.I’m glad to see theres still a few rifle company’s still making USA products.Way to go weatherby, beautiful gun!
307 is the area code for the entire state, not just Sheridan 😉 thanks for the close look at this rifle
I love the stock. I wish it had a 3 position safety and straight flutes on the barrel and bolt.🤔 I grew up with a beautiful Vanguard 270. I loved it.
My gracious folks...a fine company like Weatherby and made in WYOMING! What's not to like. Cut them some slack, you'd think by so many negative comments here it was made in China.
I own two Weatherby's chambered in 257 magnum and 300 magnum. I wouldn't trade them for anything.
I'm sure from all the reviews I've read and seen on this model 307...it's gonna be great.
Thanks Weatherby for staying in the game and doing something a little bit out of your realm. The 257-300 really has my attention also. It just smoke's anything in the 25 caliber world and way beyond! I know what all the naysayers are saying...it's a barrel burner. I don't know about you but I'll never shoot that many rounds out of a hunting rifle! Especially if like so many hunters out there, that have several or many rifles to choose from for different hunting purposes. 4:37
I am actually excited about this. It’s no mkv, in my mink a mkv is a deluxe in .257, .300 or .340 and is an heirloom piece. This one is practical and a little late to game but welcome anyway. I anticipate the action would be of almost custom quality.
307 is sweet
Slightly cheaper?? But wow, nice looking rifle.
What is weight....hope it don't have half by 28 thread pattern
How does the bolt cycle? Smooth?
Why do we need to be able to take apart the bolt?
Do they make it in 7mm-08 yet ?¿
Oh they offer 7PRC :)
I am curious as to why you need to buy the alpine to get 300 prc, I don’t need another rifle, but I’d buy the xp if I could get it in 300 prc.
It should have been a 3 lug !!!
I like it but this was a awfully short review hopefully someone will compare this rifle to the Springfield 2020 Waypoint soon and then I’ll have to decide where my money goes
Ooo that sounds like a good idea for a video…
I SHOULD NEVER WATCH THESE REVIEWS IM GONNA END UP BUYING ANOTHER RIFLE SOON
Hahaha!
I’m in the same boat I picked up a Christensen FFT May 1 and I’m sure this will end up in my hands soon
Did you honestly say.. SLIGHTLY CHEAPER... dear oh dear
What is degree bolt throw? And what footprint is the action? Hopefully 700.
I don't know about the bolt throw, but the action is a Rem 700 clone.
Two lug bolt, so 90 degree bolt throw.
Yeah. 90 degree bolt throw and standard rem 700 footprint.
Yeah, 90 degree, three bolt would be 70, and not just for solid lockup, but 70 clears the scope much more!
It’s okay though, glad to see them in Wyoming!
If adaptability is the goal, in a bolt action, that means changing calibers. Can the bolt face swap? Can the action take prefit barrels? Or do we need a whole new bolt, and gunsmith mounting of a new barrel? Can a long action take a short action round?
It's called the Blaser R-8, I been shooting and hunting with a Blaser R-93 since 2004!
If you buy just the action it will take prefits and will have standard REM 700 threads (if you want the exact thread pitch it is on the 307 FAQ list on our website under support for the gun you get)
Weatherby is offering a Builders Action in Short Action with a standard Bolt face, Long Action with a Standard or Mangnum Bolt face.
@@GeorgeSemel anything Blaser makes is higher than than balls on a Giraffe and the barrels are too. I'd go with a Zermat Origin action which is a Rem-700 compatable action meaning all the cool remington stocks, triggers etc. will fit it. it has a floating replaceable Savage style bolt head but it's way easier to replace than Savage and a new bolt head is $120 and takes about 2 mins to change over and it's a controlled round feed action and mechanical ejection sort of like a Mauser. It also takes Savage pre fit barrels with the jam nut or you can use a shoulder style which tons of people are carrying now. The actions are less than 1k, less than a Blaser barrel. I have one set up for PRS in a variety of calibers from .308 to 6x47 Lapua 6mm XC and 6mm BRA and 6MM Dasher and .223 etc. I've never been a WBY fan. They have always been a rich mans rifle in calibers that are exp. to feed and is a status rifle so you can say it's WEATHERBY!!!!!!!! my Complete rifle and scope with 6 barrels costs less than a Blaser does from what I have seen.
Also very impressed by Aero Precision Solus, awaiting their LA.
4:14 This is a pretty odd angle to show a group from. It's hard to tell how big it is. That said, a single 3-shot group doesn't mean anything anyway.
Slightly cheaper 1299 vs 2999???
All the barrels are 2 inches too long. Threaded for a can but pretty much standard length barrels
Weatherby is a little late to the party! The competition (PRS, etc) space is very crowed. Rifle manufacture are on the 2nd and 3rd generations of improvements. As for hunting, I have never had to field strip a bolt. But, I like the tool less design. The Old Sarge
"Slightly" is like 2.5x more. My BB gun is only "slightly" weaker than 308 win.
"Slightly cheaper??????" You meant to say, "Less than half the price."
That works too 😅
Another 700 just what we all need, really?
What are you talking about?
@@lanceroberthough1275 because its compatible with rem700 parts they think its the exact same bolt and action for some reason.
Chambering. Cartridge. Not caliber.
Did he say "slightly cheaper"? "The 307"... you can take the boy out of California...
Nice looking rifle for target shooting, for a hunting rifle, it's butt ugly. I would have liked to have seen the less expensive model reviewed.
I will try and get my hands on one!
no one wants to hunt with a chassis rifle they are uncomfortable to pack and shoot and the folder option is useless.
@@markthegunplumber8376 I hunt with chassis, none of what you said is true
$3000? I can buy a Mark V Hunter for $1500, put a $1000 Leupold on it and buy $500 of ammo for the same price!
Maybe you should look up the definition of the word slightly! Hard to trust a review when something so obvious is way off the mark.
Looks like they farmed every part out. A little late to the game and nothing new.
Copycats. Including the name. 😂 Not cool.
So they release a new action marketed toward the ability to customize a rifle with it, but they have no timeline set for creating and ordering a custom rifle with it directly though the company… A classic case of product launch failure. Total joke.
if only there were dozens of other companys that can make every other part you need to stick on the action since its 700 compatible
