My dad was born in 1928 and didn’t believe that girls should get paid for working. Fast-forward when I get to college and I’m working in a pizza shop in the 90’s with the same kind of old-school mentality patriarchal misogynistic old man, Italian boss with mafia ties. I was simply just grateful to get paid even though they don’t pay me overtime when I work 60 hours a week. I got paid less than everybody there, and it is cash under the table. I would feel terrible getting paid each week and avoid cashing out or picking up my check from my other job as a landscaper because I felt like it was rude or aggressive for me to stop by the office and get my paycheck. And, everybody said I worked harder than all the other people there at the pizza shop, they were all on drugs and alcoholics, drinking and doing drugs at work and passing out, and I was keeping everything organized and going with all of the food orders, delivery drivers, phone orders, and all of the other stuff like detail cleaning at 2 o’clock in the morning to make sure there wasn’t food underneath the fryers. Oh, and the druggie cook would get chicken wings out of a bucket and put them in a fryer and wipe his hands on the cotton rag at the sub/sandwich and then make somebody a sandwich with raw chicken slime on his hands and no gloves on and then wipe down the substation countertop with the salmonella chicken juice soaked rag. He’d put his salmonella hands into the raw vegetables, like the lettuce and tomato. He also would not wash his hands after he went to the bathroom, and he hired sex workers when he got out of work at two or three in the morning, and they did drugs together. I talked to him about it several times, and told the boss. Who knows what happened when I wasn’t there to remind him over and over to stop making people sick. I ordered food from there one time on a day off and got sick off of the “cooked” chicken fingers, they were frozen raw and supposed to be cooked all the way through but I think they were undercooked and we can only assume they had raw chicken slime and salmonella all over them. The cook would tell me that they were pre-cooked chicken and did not need to be in the fryer for very long. I showed him on the box that it says they were raw meat and needed to be cooked for a certain amount of time at a certain temperature. I end up not being a very good manager, because I have a hard time telling people no or following through with something that could hurt their feelings like evicting them for destroying the home and nonpayment of rent. People pleasers should not be landlords or property managers, we are the reason why homes get lost to the bank during a foreclosure and back taxes and the mortgage payments do not get made on time. I was called many times by my social worker "a people pleaser". Well...I've had a tough time in the social world... I'm having a lot of problems with some friends of mine...I want to tell them I feel left out...but I'm scared to death of something awful! Like rejecting me, and leaving me! I've been there, I still try to help out for nothing. But about friends, I just got bored with people, curious about myself, focused on the goal of learning something. I don't have any friends at all, but I have a family, I don't know, if I didn't have a family, I'd probably die.

The car accident thing happened to me once 😅. A car driving in a narrow lane hit me and it’s side mirror was smashed( I was completely fine) and when it stopped at a distance to check up on me, the first thing that I did was tell the man that I was sorry that I broke his mirror 😂. It was fine though, he was very nice and asked me if I needed medical help.
I would have done that too but self blame is dangerous, especially if he turned out to be a terrible person. He could have blamed you for the incident, said you agreed, and gotten money for it. Just my opinion. No worries if you disagree. I am probably wrong so either way I hope the best for you.

All of my 1 friend, who lives a few blocks away from me, says this is what I sound like: “Hey! I was wondering if you wouldn’t mind picking up my mail while I’m out of town. Or, if you’d rather just set me on fire and then run me over with your car, that’s OK too. Are you mad at me ? “
Obviously you don't want to go to THAT extent, but caring about other people's lives and feelings WILL lead to phrases like "no worries if you're too busy. I can always find someone else." When she said no worries is a phrase we should avoid i was like omg you’re right… This one hit a little to close to home… but that’s okay! It was SO funny, I loved it and snl should def do more skits like this! If they want to that is, totally okay either way.
My therapist: "You need to stop relying on 'no worries' and 'it is what it is'."
SNL Therapist: "You're supposed to avoid 'no worries'!"
I'm trying, damn you?! 😂😭
My therapist: "You need to learn to separate yourself from other people's problems and let them know when you're not in a position to be their "open ear". You see when I was little, there was this thing my mother used to...."
Me: "Can we not talk about that right now?"
Her: "....."
I'm glad I'm not the only one who relates to this.
the way ari is so small standing next to the others i love her sm
@@Florilegium1you’re awful 🥱
You love her sm because she’s small ? 🤨📸
@@ProKaylyn no its just cute
The way I spent time scrolling for this comment! And ye so cute.
People like this were DESTROYED as children for having any personal interests or desires at all. ❤
Yes. Just not encouraged at all. And actively ignored. I'm trying so hard to overcome the perfectionism I developed, probably in an attempt for love and recognition. It is no way at all to live a life.
Been like this for a long time. The worst is when people get confused about what you're trying to say
Man, this sketch was great! Also, I definitely know how these guys feel. Sometimes I have a hard time trying to make good decisions while simultaneously try to make the other person happy at the same time. So I DEFINITELY relate to what these people are going through. Also, really glad Ariana made a cameo! 😊
You must be young. With age comes wisdom.
@@loveforeignaccentsbot
@@loveforeignaccents people pleasers usually experienced some kind of trauma at a young age. Getting older doesn't erase that. And there are plenty of older people around proving that wisdom does not always come with age.
@@AnitaClue Well, I guess I was speaking from personal experience. I used to be a people pleaser in my younger years but definitely outgrew that. No one's feelings are more important than my own, nor anyone's time. It's definitely a nice learning lesson I think most people can realize and experience.
Sarah can totally turn this character into a "Human Resources" show, lol.
I love Bowen’s delivery in this sketch. Rapid fire and frantic, while furiously waving his hands. Perfect!
Oh, that one hits so hard 😭
2:46 everybody in America 😂
Luv tough guy Brolin playing a people pleaser. Brilliant 😂
Probably one of the most relatable sketches I've seen in my life. And my girl Ariana Grande is in it, what's not to love?? 😁
HAHAHHAHAHAHA wtf am i watching 😭😭😭😭 been waiting for this bomb skit whole summer kudos snl
Damn SNL y'all didn't have to come for me like that 🤣
Bowen is too good!
I'm surprised they never had Josh Brolin do a Thanos spoof. Hawkeye and Black widow did one
goonies would be a fun one
He did a Thanos skit, but they cut it for time. They cut half the skits tonight. For balance.
A skit where he keeps going back and forth between Thanos and Cable would be funny.
@@DSW_314 As all skits should be
So this is how people perceive me 🗿
Man, wish every job I had the boss was like no worries you can have my job 😆😉
This whole skit made me see myself and I need to learn how to get rid of my people pleasing tendencies
I was called many times by my social worker "a people pleaser". Well...I've had a tough time in the social world... I have high-functioning austim...I lost a lot of friends, oppertunities, and chances. I'm having a lot of problems with some friends of mine...I want to tell them I feel left out...but I'm scared to death of something awful! Like rejecting me, and leaving me! It's hard for me to make friends...
Sending support your way!
I've been there, I still try to help out for nothing. But about friends, I just got bored with people, curious about myself, focused on the goal of learning something. I don't have any friends at all, but I have a family, I don't know, if I didn't have a family, I'd probably die.
Fellow high functioning autistic here. Do yourself a favor and look up masking (if you haven't already)
@@PhoebeFayRuthLouiseThank you.
@@billie8036Argh! I have no friends and no family. Ah well, maybe one day, I'm only 18.
Fellow people pleasers: when you first start asserting yourself people will act like you are the worst human on the planet and there will be some adrenaline filled moments. Stand your ground while staying polite. You'll win every time!
@@AbcDef-so3tq yeah, I think my reply was based off the fact that he was an older gentleman taking his daughter to school/college(gauging from her book bag) and he had an apologetic demeanour. But, you’re right, growing up is learning to be brave and assertive when need be.
@@pm5022 Oh totally! Sounds like you correctly read it to be safe in that situation to apologize! 😊
I need that group!😂😂😂
This is so good I'm going back to watch for a third time in a row 😂😂😂....
I'm always getting those kinds of "haircuts" even though I tip very well.😂😂
😂
People have gone way toooo far these days. People pleasing. Nobody likes rude, but saying no is fine once in a while . Spot on with this sketch
I’m so very happy & glad Ariana is finally back doing skits on SNL. She is absolutely so very incredible & talented when it comes to doing skits.
“I’m fine with whateva angel” pronunciation was the funniest part of the skit and went right under everyone’s noses
No!!! This is hilariously sad how true it is!!
Really missed her snl shows
Loved it 😭🤍
Soooo, where is the meeting being held again? Am I doing this in a bad time? I mean you guys can answer it if you guys are not too busy. Oh my gosh, I am so sorry for this long post. Gosh, I don't know what I am doing!! I am gonna go now. Good luck! Love your hair by the way.
“We are both smart and stupid” 😆
I loved this skit, as long as that’s okay with you. I saw so many relatives of mine here. Probably me too.
This was way too relatable
Man, too close to home
That's sad.
@@loveforeignaccents ah, the internet never changes
@@DimJongUn Has nothing to do with trolling. I was being honest... it's actually sad that a person would feel this way.
It's like looking in a mirror 😂
Someone should have had a breakthrough and really said what they thought
All of my 1 friend, who lives a few blocks away from me, says this is what I sound like: “Hey! I was wondering if you wouldn’t mind picking up my mail while I’m out of town. You should only have to get it once. Only if it isn’t a total inconvenience for you. And don’t worry if you can’t, I will figure it out, so it’s totally fine. I can pay you too. Or, if you’d rather just set me on fire and then run me over with your car, that’s OK too. Are you mad at me ? “
Obviously you don't want to go to THAT extent, but caring about other people's lives and feelings WILL lead to phrases like "no worries if you're too busy. I can always find someone else." Or even the classic "if you're okay with that."
There's a balance between going full "people pleaser" and actually caring about other people.
I need this support group.❤
I needed this.
😂 😭
This sketch is so underrated 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 you can like it or not but no worries
Exactly. Yes. This, here.
Yes?
THANK YOU FOR PUTTING SARAH IN MORE SKITS THIS WEEK!!!
Wow her acting is spectacular
my heart just healed a little bit
Omgggg Ariana Grande. She killed it!!! 👏😍💕
🙄🙄🙄🙄
The only thing she killed was the pacing.
"I want to quit my job." Yeaaah...many years too late! and we all know Dan Schinder won't let her do that...
@@loveforeignaccents Somewhere...Jenette Maccurdy is punching a wall!!!
SHE ALWAYS DO!!!
I was sadly TAUGHT to be like this or there were consequences. Then it’s like “go out in the world and be assertive”! Okkkk 👌🏼👌🏼👌🏼
Ariana’s hair looks adorable!
I did not feel called out until the fucking end with the prayers 🙏 🙇♀️ 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Sometimes I swear, SNL is Sketching my life. 😳
Bowen Yang is sooooo funny and has an amazing timing! Love him 🙂
