Bye Bye fund is good concept, I think instead of giving costly gifts to the groom every parent should gift a Bye Bye fund to their daughters at the time of their marriage.
@Affaan A dowry is accessed by the groom and his family too but the Bye Bye fund can only be accessed by the daughter (bride) that to when she wants to get a separation from the groom.
Even I went on dates with people when I was broke. And because I did not like the idea of only the man paying the bill, I suggested cheaper places so that I could split the bill! Most of them were sweet enough to have understood that. And some of the ended up paying because they didn't find it 'that a big deal'. So I guess it needs to be mutual!
Yeah it needs to be mutual , because sometimes you're not broke but just maybe running low on funds or something like that , but i found out girls are actually good with money , if I ever needed them to pay i would casually ask them to pay this time (comfortably not imposing ), there should be no pressure , i believe chivalry is good when there's no pressure!
