  • Join us for an inspiring conversation with Dr. Nancy Coleman, Dean of Harvard Extension School and Continuing Studies, as she sits down with two remarkable alums, Dinesh C and Shirley Tate.
Dinesh C, an accomplished entrepreneur and co-founder of ADAPT, a venture dedicated to transportation-centered sustainability goals, shares insights from his unique educational journey-from a bachelor's degree in Computer Science and Business Economics at Brown University to a Master of Liberal Arts in Sustainability at Harvard Extension School. Dinesh's passion for sustainability extends to his co-founding of Climate Masterminds with UC Berkeley and serving as a board member of JCYC in San Francisco.
For Shirley Tate, ALB '22, a dream of attending Harvard turned into reality decades after working as a bus driver in Boston. Despite facing peaks and valleys in her journey, Tate graduated from Harvard Extension School with a Bachelor of Liberal Arts, concentrating in religion. Her story is one of resilience and determination, as she reflects on her past while pointing out the bus she used to drive on campus.
Don't miss this engaging discussion that spans career pivots, educational pursuits, and the pursuit of dreams, showcasing the diverse and inspiring paths of our alumni.

I wanna be honest with you guys. I do like your school. I am learning a lot from it through edx in online. I took up introduction to videogame developing course cs50. God knows I like your school. But I will never have a chance to get a certificate from your online course because I have to pay 250 to 300 dollars to get a certificate. So I will remember Harvard as a school where I learn some very few things about video games development but I will never get the chance to have a certificate because I don't have money. 300 American dollars is 15,000 Philippines pesos, for just a piece of certificate. Thank you for the opportunity anyway.

The point is the knowledge is free, the things you can do with the knowledge instead of what you can do with a certificate.

Harvard does not hate Jews. Harvard is a university that emphasizes diversity and inclusion of all races, ethnicities, and backgrounds. If your heart desires it, you should apply for a program at Harvard 👍😉
