Hi Daniel, I am so excited with your video and the way how you work, I am learning and I would like that you make a video how to make speed ramping step by step but you can explain slow. Thanks a lot my bro and God bless you.
Painters masking tape works great. Especially a wider roll, like 2 inches or 5cm wide. The higher-quality blue stuff from the hardware store works fine.
DON'T use painters tape for this! It is not paper tape. The adhesive is much weaker - making much more likely to peel off - than paper tape/console tape.
Ciip the mic on FFS.... Why is it a trend these days for people to hold these mics? I've even seen people hold lav mics... WHY!? Better yes, use the magnet and put the mic INSIDE your shirt
Chewing gum near mics that are recording was not the best choice. Wait till after recording next time to enjoy your gum ✌ Its also a very subtle cue of disrespect in a lot of cultures to chew gum while having a conversation with someone.
Lol nope, that was a reference to like 5 years ago when I tried to gaff tape acoustic panels to my walls in my parents - I should've clarified that, my bad.
Daniel. But maybe you could paint white over the magnets so even if they are drill they will blend better :)
i love anything thats magnetic
Can’t wait to see what everyone comes up with using this tip!
Ohhh yea! I have a super small space I was debating getting the varipole for mounting lights. This would help %100! Dan you are my film school lol
Your videos are so well formulated. They really help me improve my editing skills! Really like them. 🙂✨
Hey !
You can buy white paper tape to match the ceiling :)
Great video!
Super neat video and idea!
GENIUS!! Most useful video I've seen for a loooooong time
I’ve worked with Matt on set before, great to see him making content now!
verrrrrrry cool idea. currently upgrading my filming setup and this is a brilliant idea that I will definitely use. Thanks guys!
I have drop ceilings and there’s a metal area that runs all over the ceiling so I just throw my magnetic lights on those.
Great tip!
Daniel and Matt thx very helpful trick!
WoW!

Now that's a game changer
Great video. Thanks!
another great way to use these is to stick hard drives to them!! great way to save space without a big RAID array! :D
I'm pretty sure that some will use your tip... can you imagine this confusion and realisation afterwards?😅
@@wesolowskimatt its okay, the files come back if you delete system32 in your windows folder! :D
Cool. Now I'm thinking about sticking little cameras up on the ceiling too...
wow such a great video thanks for the tip
Matt sounds exactly like Daniel haha!
Your biceps look great
Paper tape! Nice!
Uh….. the reason I clicked on this video is because I have magnets on my ceiling 😮 great minds think alike
Oh yeah!
Such a good tip! 😭 made the same mistake with gaff tape lol
You should do another "edit my video" challenge
what could've been a 1 min short is being stretched to a 7 min video too exhausting 🥵
wow that tape is S101 on amazon Australia
Sure would be nice to have a link to Matt's social media. Did I miss that somewhere??
Can you remove the glass from the frames? All the reflections from the lights are a little distracting. Not a big deal, but noticeable.
me in an earthquake zone: nope
🤯
Done
I tape all my stuff to everything 😅 Even if I don't need to, I'll anyways tape it
YEAH MR. WHITE! YEAH MAGNETS!
how do you determine the correct polarity of the magnets?
Just try them on the light beforehand, after that you can stacked them together.
@@wesolowskimatt Thanks 🙂
That is why I hire a dp. So I don't have to wrap my head around these kind of things, as a director.
TL; DW why did he do it?

OK....soooooo, what is paper tape? 😅
Painters masking tape works great. Especially a wider roll, like 2 inches or 5cm wide. The higher-quality blue stuff from the hardware store works fine.
it's basically tape that doesn't damage walls. if you were to put gaff tape on your walls it would peel paint off
Painters tape is made with paper, just use that bro!
I think it's the same thing, just different name. In the UK we call it masking tape.
DON'T use painters tape for this! It is not paper tape. The adhesive is much weaker - making much more likely to peel off - than paper tape/console tape.
🤩 Promo SM

Will you be my boyfriend
my goodness, this should have been a 60 second video.
