I wanted to say thank you for this! The video is lovely and straightforward in what you cover, it's really easy to follow what you're doing and see the effects. I really appreciate the simplicity of your presentation/video style (not to say it's basic - it's not, it's very good!). And I learned a bunch! Possibly my favourite modelling video I've seen in the last week or so :)
Well, I'd like to return the thanks! You've made my day with that comment :) I'm glad that my vision for these videos is coming across. I'll strive to continue at this level, and also improve as I learn how to record and edit better. Always happy for constructive criticism too, another great opportunity to improve. Thanks again!
It would be cool if you occasionally featured non-GW minis. Maybe the occasional Infinity or Malifaux or something. I enjoy watching painting and painting tutorial vids, and sometimes it's nice to see something different.
That's a great idea. I spent my first couple of years painting purely fantasy minis for DnD, so Malifaux looks like my sort of vibe. I've just had a look, there are so many! I'd be sure to pick something very different to what I've painted thus far. Thanks for the suggestion! ☺️
Cool head painting guide. Will definitely use some of your techniques. I have mostly painted Orks, far easier to paint faces on them, very similar in layering.
Thanks! Please feel free to share a picture of it when you next paint one :) Talking of Orks, I'm going to buy some in the near future to do a display standard tutorial for one, including the face!
Are you using any magnification on this or just your naked eye balls? If so, do you recommend anything in particular? I tried some of the cheap Chinese ones and surprisingly it was terrible.
Just the naked eye here. When I first started painting I got a little magnifying glass stand thing, and I really disliked it. I see plenty of painters with the magnifying glasses you sort of flip down, and they swear by them. But, for now, I'm more than happy with just my eyes on their own.
Quality little video mate, simple, informative, and most of all, one I can follow. Top job. End result is superb. 👍🏼👍🏼
Thanks, Keith! That's exactly what I'm going for with these, so I'm glad it hit the mark! Really appreciate the kind words ☺️
It's crazy how quickly the head changed from basic to looking more realistic with the stubble/eye painting

Thanks for the tutorial.
My pleasure, more to come in the future! Thank for commenting, means a lot :)

Beautiful paint jobs! Found you thanks to your Instagram ad.
Thank you so much! Plenty more coming in the future, I hope you enjoy the videos :D
Good camera work 👍🏻
Thanks! I tried my hardest to get as much detail as I could, from a good angle also. Make painting the guy's face pretty tough, but it was worth it :D
Also good for eyes is to paint in the white and, when dry, use a 0.1mm graphic art liner or technical pen to draw in the black.
That's a real interesting take I've never tried, will look out for an art liner when I'm next shopping around for art supplies, thanks for sharing :)
Excellent! I just opened up the PA Payne's Grey and used it for the first time last night.
It's great! You can use it to add to most paints to make a universal cool highlight, adding cohesion to a mini's shading. Hope you enjoy it!
Love the attention to detail on this one!
