- E9 was welcomed into the world today at 7:33am! Congratulations Southwest Florida Eagle Cam & Harriet and M15 on a job well done! M brought in grasses and Harriet got up and we were able to witness the hatching of E9. M sees E9 for the first time & pulls some of the shell aside!! Thank you for watching!

Incredible to see the commitment and teamwork:) And truly awesome to see them verbalize almost like rejoicing their little guy has found his way out of the shell. So beautiful to observe:) Thanks so much for all the work taken to allow us the experience to view this little miracle that we would of never been able to without modern technology.

Lori, although it's been a long time ago, I wanted to see this. Was blessed to find this beautiful family 12/27/17, so missed E10/11 hatching. Lady Hawk is the best at what she does! After reading what you wrote, I agree 100% and no need to improve on it! Looking forward to many years of enjoying them all. L :)

there is so much to nature... I was facinated I watched and followed them now the birth ... the moment I been waiting for... i noticedthe mom eagle nestles on the egg and moves back and forth and now the baby...i think now in a real effort too keep the baby stimulated... this is darling I must show my lil nieces they are 7 and 10 thank you for this experience

My daughter and E9 have the same birthday! I was having contractions on the 30th and watching the eagle cam to distract myself. while we were in the hospital on the 31st I was checking it through labor and saw that he/she had hatched! I had my daughter a few hours later. haha!

That is some really interesting animal behavior. When the egg hatched, they started vocalizing as if to say "It's happening. Come look." I think that animals might be more sentient than we give them credit for sometimes.

im Missys grand daughter im 8 and my class watches the eagles we watch Harriet and we named one eagle in Georgia Rose but we didn't get to see the baby bird hatch!!!!

M15 is the name given to him. It stands for Male 2015 the year he showed up at the nest.

Lady Hawk... just popped in to say, been up all night, fading FAST!. (I've got to get on a schedule lol) Just checked on LIVE cam, E10/11 were being fed white bird w/black on tips of feathers. Anyway, E10/11 both grabbed a long feather for some reason , tried to eat it and I almost laughed aloud at 7?? a.m. If you have time, will you do me a favor and catch the rest. I can;t stay awake any longer and will miss it all. Can tell it's going to be a fun day in the nest. See u later. Will delete. Thanks!!!! L :)

Hi Ann- once they fledge they generally do not return to the nest. In time, E9 may return to the general vicinity as a sub adult or adult but we would not know if it was him or another eagle.

Definitely got his fathers looks. Well, you couldn't possibly blame the Mother come on now :) I hope that second hatches soon, bit concerned atm, no visible breakage. To think, when I started watching these, there was a little over 1k likes, well done...Will you remove the Egg?
Thank you. No the egg will remain in the nest. They will either bury it, remove it, push it to the side of the nest and ignore it or consume it for the energy and calcium content.

I was just on the live cam and there is only one bird, but in this video there are two eggs. Did one not make it this far?
The first egg was non viable and never hatched.
it seems one of the parents at around 10:20 am EST capped the un-hatched egg with the shell of the other. could this endanger the other eaglet?
