Very nice unit nothing beats vintage audio electronics they took pride when they built stuff back then and companies backed up their products not like today you would be lucky for a one day warranty and the junk products used to make it is all plastic lime craply or y o r x or all In one crap all the best great job as always
Hi Glen - That would be a great entertainment player to use back then. Better sound than most portables, and having a radio as well, can't ask for more. -- Atco
What a winner, Glen. Sounds great, has a radio and the blonde cabinet looks really nice. Shouldn't have any problem with someone wanting to pick that one up. I can attest to your packing skill, too :-)
OldRadioAl Thanx for viewing Al! It actually didn't take long before a viewer said "I'll take it"! The person buying it should really enjoy it...it's that nice!
That looks like a RCA from the same era, but I really like the sound. BTW I have that same Liberty LP in my collection, but I never heard it sound that "punchy". It might be your camera's AGC and microphone, but I bet its that tube amp giving it that nice deep sound. Also the AM sounds good too, nice wideband response.
***** It's really a great machine with full tonal qualities. It's great looking w/similar look to the same era RCA's as you noted but IMHO better built. The VM changer is without a doubt a better changer than the RCA!
Looks like my webcor, it has 4 tube wo. Radio these old certified hi players are pure sounding Low lows to high highs W.c runs 2, 4' tweeters and one 6 x9 that's a nice one
desoto1961 Thanx Rich. The AM radio was definitely a bonus and the machine was in really nice condx for its age too. Already have a buyer - didn't last long! Get your Muntz player yet?
desoto1961 You'll actually have 3 coming with that player...one of each size! I don't have many tapes myself but I DO have a cache of 30 coming in a couple of days. There was good music available on those tapes - go to e-Bay where you'll see them from $2 up.
i was at the record show party today at rays house it was so nice and amazing i never saw so many record players in my life the host ray was very nice and the food was great too.. question do you still have the r c a tabletop 4 speed record player?
It may be well build and sound great but I doubt very many of these are around. Looking so much like the RCA style of the time I would imagine the heads of Artone would have received a nasty letter from RCA's legal department.
Nice player, it had no model number at all, and the over design looked like it was a clone of the RCA Victor New Orthophonic Hi-Fi record player with a VM changer instead of an RCA.
RCA was always trying to be one step ahead. Designing a player with a radio was one of the RCA marketing ploys. The locking tone arm was also an RCA technique. Too bad AM programming sucks so bad. It's wasted spectrum with sports, religion and hate news.
I agree except this sounds like it's done by some kids, not that bad for a rip-off.. But knowing how smart & shrewd a business person Phil Spector was i'm sure he might had some business deals with this group or record label

I like the song, actually. I really love your videos and wish I had discovered them years ago.

atco21117 True enough Atco! If I didn't have so many other players I would have been tempted to keep it!

That first song is a blatant rip off of Bob B. Soxx and the Blue Jeans "Zip a De Do Dah" . I'm surprised Spector didn't sue. The player is great !
UberAnalog I'll have to find that Bob B. Soxx record to compare. And yes, this player is a winner!
