Definite yes to the "Striking a balance" vlog! Currently going through the debate over when to say "no" and take time for myself for practice and my own work, in this critical time coming up to the end of my university degree vs helping everyone else out because that's what comes naturally to me (is that a bassist's thing?)

Janek! Thanks a ton! Yesterday I commented on the other vid, today I´ve got an answer. Perfect! Love the internet! Pronounciation of my name was on point, too ;-) I took a bunch of good ideas away from your answer, especially the timing thing stroke me immediately. I´m 45 years old/young now, but maybe I´ll take the risk again to be a bandleader and do my own music around the world, we´ll see....I´m not all too scared and have not much too loose, so why not......Thanks again and I wish you a great, sucessful tour..............see ya.......

Yes on the deep dive into the flumoxing world of prioritization in one's life, &... how you do it as an individual plus very busy dude. I think we all [don't want to use the word struggle] have 'all descriptions' of challenges, in this dept.

Great vid Janek. So interesting how you say it's 95% dealing with people and 5% playing music. Sounds like psychology and business management might be good college courses for a professional musician to partake in as well. Cheers for the insight

Would love to hear your thoughts on balancing various aspects of life as a musician. Something I think about a lot. Thanks Janek!

hey Janek! i know you answered some questions today but i've been saving this one for a Q&A vlog.. related to your work with Jojo Mayer and John Davis.. i've been trying to find out how does John Davis get to that wobble bass sound.. it's been driving me nuts, do you know anything about it or is it a top secret effect? keep it up man, love your work!

One question for touring internationally regarding prescriptions and insurance on the road. I'm a diabetic and would obviously bring a surplus of supplies. What's the deal with getting prescriptions when out of the us?

Pete Christman I've never had any issues with going around the world with my diabetic meds, as long as they're in their labeled pill container, and can be in your carry-on.

How do you get used to playing standing? I'm almost always sitting when I practice. Also, and I don't do this really, what do you think of using your thumb to play a fifth note in the chords you play? Also do you play slap style?

Hey Janek, as a Berklee graduate, what tips do you have for international students finding performance work or work that involves playing as much as possible during the one year OPT of work that you have?
