An Dún, 5 wins (Finals) out of 6. My maternal Grandfather played for An Dún, minor, junior & senior. Granda T. Mc P. highest was a Ulaid Final in '42. He was no. 10 and scored 3 of the Dún 6 pts. Cavan won 26-6. He was asked to go for a trial with Belfast Celtic but wouldn't go. He had to rear a family of 6 on very little money. Very hard worker. Rode an old bicycle 8 miles to work (Goraghwood Railway station) and not flat land, all hills here. in all weathers. Turf man. Lived till he was 82. but his best was as a true Horseman, Granda T. was gifted with spotting young horses (Jumpers, show horses) and "Training them". In the horses, he was known from Cork to Antrim and Galway to Dublin. he has passed it on to his two grandsons. sláinte!
