Fun fact: The "L,I,G" letters on those wooden blocks stand for "Let It Go" and were borrowed from Jimmy's daughter, Winnie.

Hi jimmy
Haha that's awesome😋
It's that on girl from glee Rachel's mom
***** it's an awesome song but l would like to see Frozen
Goose bumps every time I listen to this... Idina has a RIDICULOUS voice.
Jimmy Fallon, Idina Menzel and The Roots perform "Let It Go" on classroom instruments!
WATCH! ua-cam.com/video/17QQcK4l6Yw/v-deo.html
That was great! Really enjoyed watching you all having a good time!
Is she incredible or what?!!! I saw her in Wicked and fell in love. :) Now this....cool
It was Awesome!!
Adele Dazeem, Ginny Laffon and the Brother Hoods, singing Lez Iz Grown !
Since I don't know the song and didn't really like it it's the first one I've been disappointed in but I'm sure it has it's fans
What a talent, wow and her last high note - perfect!
yessss
Carina Bech
Nope, I wrote that comment quite seriously.
+xtherealsunshinex Haters gonna hate, bro... that´s the only explanation.
I so agree. that is horrible lol singing out her nose. that is not a pretty voice at all
Julie Cowart doesn't matter that it's not pretty, no one listens to Idina to hear a "pretty" voice, they listen to hear her pure power and raw talent and quite frankly, I'd take the likes of Idina over any modern "pretty" singer today.
Idina Menzel's voice is absolutely amazing. I love how Jimmy is going to join in at a couple of points, then just looks over at her like "Wow."
You can see the joy in the face of the singers in this attraction, they look happier than when they sing in a big concert!!
This is probably the best I've ever seen Idina Menzel sing live...wow...her voice at the end reminds me of Barbra Streisand.
Also, I think what's funny is that, for once, she's not just performing the song - she's enjoying it. Did you notice her face when the band started getting into it? She's amazing when she has fun!
I agree with everything except the first sentence, she was indeed awesome here but you should check out more of her live performances, she is incredibly amazing.
She has such an incredible voice, her control is amazing (well she is a Broadway singer so...) and that last note was flawless !! It sounded so good !!
People saying that she sounds annoying, can you sing this song like her? It's a really hard song, and she is a top notch broadway performer in her 40s. I think she sang the song the way it was meant to sound. Vocal disney queen!
these are corniest times kids love everything hyped. it's the internet
***** Yep, that's why she got a huge standing ovation. She did a great job, consider the show forced her to speed up the song because of time issues.
That high note at 3:29 gets me every time in the movie. But when she hits it perfectly LIVE.. Blows my mind!
Agree.
Carlos Arturo Medina Salazar excactly! so goooood... :p
Very pretty, indeed. Not high for me, but she's got a great voice and it is beautiful!
"But when she hits it perfectly LIVE."
And SEATED!
It sounds magical when she's having a good time.
For like a year you couldn't search for this video (probably unlisted or something), I'm very glad it's back! 🎶🙌💙
Anybody else watched this with a silly smile on the face during the whole song? Man, that is good!
yup, right in da feels :,)
I guess those people saying they auto tuned Idina's voice for the Frozen soundtrack can go home now?
She nailed every single note like the queen she is, at the Oscars the music was rushed, they cut off half of the song and she was nervous, that's why she didn't hit the last note as good as she COULD have as we clearly just saw.
I'm so happy for her, she's finally proved herself, this is her first perfect Let it go live performance and wow just wow plus she is super adorable.
I think she's also having problems with hearing the orchestra on her earpiece, you'll notice it while she's performing.
I think it's funny how everyone is comparing this performance to the Oscars, because it's really simple she was nervous at the Oscars. Here she was not. Being comfortable can make the world of a difference in a performance.
Plus, it didn't help that John Travolta completely flubbed her name while introducing her.
Agree
exactly! That's what I was trying to explain. It's amazing how your atmosphere can affect your mood
@Jacquilyn Schellhase Yeah the tempo of the song at the Oscars was incredible. I was amazed she did not faint from lack of oxygen 'cause I have no idea where she had time to even take a breath.
WARNING: this video causes you to play it again and again... side effect: you will enjoy it every time.
I kinda like this better than her Oscar performance! This is soooo much fun, love this version, it put a smile on my face for the rest of the night:)
me too, she sang perfectly here!
HER VOICE IS AMAZING AND THIS IS GREAT!
This woman has a great voice!! Such a talent😍
Idina is beautiful in this video! :D
Yeah, like Gorgeous))) As usual)))
Omg I love this. She look so relaxed and happy here
i love this.
Idina is so awesome. Isn't it much harder to sing while sitting down? Obviously for her, she delivers effortlessly and flawlessly! :)
Yes, it is much harder to sing when you're sitting because you don't get as much air as you would if you're standing, and less air means less power. She is an amazing singer to be able to get this much power while sitting :D
Shannon Lewinski
It's not even exactly an air thing... a properly trained singer knows how to control breath and will not run out if it that fast. It's mostly the limited movement, it's much more difficult to sing from the diaphragm because there is a lot of pressure on it when you're sitting down.
micglou Not to mention, how much room in there to begin with???
I don't think she has to try very hard here. This is obviously done as a goof and the recording quality is relatively poor so she can get away with slacking a little. That said, she's definitely bringing it.

Oh Em Gee! Maybe they are!
This Just Shows That She Is Indeed The Wickedly Talented, One And Only IDINA MENZEL! Relaxed, Laid Back, Killing Every Single Freaking Note Of The Song! FK The Oscar Producers For Rushing Her And Exposing Her!!!
:)
I love that Idina always has a great attitude about this song and voicing Elsa. Actors get so salty when they are really known for one role. She embraces it still and it’s been almost ten years!
I'm befuddled by the negative comments about Idina's voice. She is a broadway singer meaning she is trained to sing loudly (most singers can't do this and stay on key like she can). This song is incredibly challenging to sing which is why almost every cover of this song is horrible. Frankly, I would rather listen to Idina sing this song a dozen times poorly than listen to anyone else attempt to sing it and butcher it. I'm pretty sure she nailed it here guys...not sure you're ears are functioning correctly.
True. But Demi Lovato's version sounds good too
It's incredibly nasal and technically flawed.
It may be challenging but doesn't change the fact that her voice sounds really overpitched and annoying in this one. The one whose ears are malfunctioning is clearly you, my friend.
@@nielsniels18 well if she was to completely let loose without trying insert some nasal quality in her singing, her voice might blow out. preservation techniques. not really that "technically flawed".
Yes girl
this is way better than the oscar version
Adele Dazeem is awesome.
Ha Ha nice. Stupid John Travolta
Ten years and still goosebumps!
Great job, Adele Dazeem! :)
For all you people saying she's "off key", "nasally", and "not a very good singer", have you been the original alphaba in wicked on broadway? Are you a tony award winner for best actress in a musical? Have you been on glee? Been in an oscar award winning animated movie? No so shut up or get your facts right before you hate on her. I bet half of you didn't who she was until the "Adele dazim" incident.
Her voice is just amazing.
Only the queen can sing that song sitting down. Only the queen.
Apparently you're talking about another queen.
I don't understand the comments. She sounds amazing.
I feel really proud to have known Adele Dezeem before Frozen ;) Elpheba is how I fell in love with her and now after Elsa, I love her even more ♡
...Idina Menzel?
um whos adele dezeem?
Idiot !!!
it is Idina Menzel !! Who the fuck is Adele Dezeem ??? -__-
Koushik Karmakar you obviously didn't watch the oscars....
Looks like they're having so much fun!! The audience feedback is exhilarating. Everyone of these Jimmy does is so cool.
They were just having some fun. Gee, people will complain about *anything*.
stop complaining about complaining in complaining about complaining on the complaining.
prolox1 Here, here. well said.
Love that avatar. :)
This is the soundtrack for my day.
Cannot get enough of Jimmy Fallon and the Roots and the children's instruments. They have all been winners
I totally agree, Mary Dell Harrington!
I can't believe she can hit that note sitting down full belt. Amazing.
The person performing in Oscars was probably an imposter
It was. They had some broad fill in for Idina. I think her name was like Adele Dazeem or something
***** damn Adele Dazeem, I thought their was something fishy...
***** totally different scenario. Much less relaxed setting. Different tempo. Huge audience.
Watching in 2015...And I have to say that I LOVE Idinas smile!!!! ^^
THE BEST!! DAILY VIEWING!
Adele Dazeem is very talented
See? even if you didn't do well at a performance like the oscars... you move on and still smile and keep trying! Luv you Idina...... Adele Dazeem.
Me after I fart: "Couldn't keep it in, heaven knows I tried..."
She's amazing. I love you Idina
Meee to
There is no need for any instruments other than Idina´s mesmerizing Voice!!
It sounds so cute! lol. This is so much better and enjoyable than the rushing Oscar performance. She really did Let it Go with a happy face this time. :D
How can people say her voice is not amazing after listening to 2:58 and 3:28
she hit the note very nicely here! makes up for the oscars....that wasn't even really her fault :/ i couldn't hear her over the orchestra.
awesome job!!!
I love it....jimmy is just bursting at the seams to sing!
Carrie Roder he's friggan lovin it
Stacia Rose he just can't hold it it!
Carrie Roder we know how much Jimmy loves to sing! Lol He'll take any opportunity! Love him
These negative comments saying "She can't sing" are due to the ridiculous amount of auto tuning and post production that goes into music nowadays. It's hard to appreciate true vocals when we're drowning in music that's been auto tuned, raising our standards to inhuman levels.
So please forgive us when we say some singers sound bad live because we've only ever been listening to their artificially perfected voice.
The video of her singing live "take me or leave me" from Rent in Broadway are here on the Tube. Take a minute to listen to them, then come back and let's talk about auto tune and other stuff.
Karnan Aruliah Yea no her voice really annoys me
Joe Beaulieu I hate the way her mouth looks when she opens it, case of extreme under bite
michael bones Well she isn't a natural singer to begin with
Karnan Aruliah While I agree she can sing, she does tend to shout rather than sing the high notes. I think auto tuning and post production has made artificial singers who should have never been famous in the first place. There are plenty of actually good singers out there that sound just as good live as they do in a studio (John Farnham, Anthony Warlow, Rachel Potter, Michael Buble, etc)
Idina is a LEGEND and not everyone knows how big of a broadway staple she is. No one does it like here. Bad Oscar performance or not.
Who are the 800+ folks who disliked this?? Are their souls frozen... haha. Sorry, had to say it.
This rocks Jimmy! Keep it up man!
Her voice is not for everyone, you may not like it, but she hit all the notes here, perferct.
This is freaking beautiful, even with the hilarity of those instruments. I wish I even had HALF the talent Idina does. This song 100% deserves that Academy Award. :D
And it just shows what a difference not having nerves makes - trying to sing when you're nervous is extremely difficult (she even did a great job considering those circumstances). I know I'd be pretty terrified too if I was performing at the FREAKING OSCARS. It doesn't help that Travolta completely butchered "Adele Dazim's" name.
her delivery is where the problem is. its mostly being sung from the back of her throat and through her nose. it helps her hit the notes but is ever so grating to people that really listen
Jason Sudekis is playing the Ukulele.
DiamondJoyride looks more like terry from reno 911 lmao
Lmfao
+DiamondJoyride OMG hahah
I wish she sang this great on the Oscars :(
you call this great?
Did you watch the cover by the One Voice Children Choir (uploaded by Alex Boyé)?
Although this woman here sings a thousand times better than me (which isn't hard btw 'cause I can't sing anyway) she sounds like one of the people who need Autotune in comparision to the lead singer girl in the previously mentioned cover.
Schreddermann you're kidding right? Hahahah
Schreddermann she's Idina Menzel a Broadway actress you should check out her other stuff plus she sings the song in Frozen too.
I know but it was THE OSCARS and her first time singing I think, I had solos and even in front of my school class I put nervous. Now I know that it doesnt matter if you are Idina, you will get nervous sometimes not always, its okay for me. At least we have this video haha
I thought Adele Dazim sang this?
Adele Dazeem was great in this.
Lol :)
When she sings "The Past Is In The Past," the yelp from the crowd makes your heart soar.
To all those people who didn't think she could after her Oscar performance, I just want to say: "See? Idina Menzel can hit that last note."
everybody makes mistakes. And haters will take that as the reason for their hating :)
Love Idina
The part I didn't like about the Oscar performance is even worse this time. She seems to be getting even more nasal. It's fine if you like that, but please tell me you can hear the huge difference in her voice in the movie version.
Ziply, nasality is something they teach to avoid straining unnecessarily.
Omg! She is not getting the attention she deserves! I love you Idina ❤️ You are so talented and you are one f the best singers I have ever heard 👏🏻❤️
The WICKED-LY TALENTED ADELE DAZEEM ~~~
XD
I just love this so much!
Oh my this is brilliant! I even gave an awkward round of applause at the end too, even though I'm just sat alone at home... :D
Idina has such a beautiful voice ♥️ this video was very cute, happy, & wholesome all at once
I don't want to buy the soundtrack version.
I want THIS version!!!
: )
Hey girl
Jimmy Fallon is a master...
*****
There is only 1 chick here, sir.
How many musical instruments???
***** You're nuts!!
***** I didn't say "your" nuts...
***** Idina Menzel
This is so perfect!! NO ONE COULD EVER SING IT THE WAY SHE DOES!! Amazing
Chills.... Every. Freaking. Time. She absolutely nails it.
Don't hate on her...her voice is styled for Broadway. That's why singing regular songs...such as pop songs- they usually don't sound as good. I think she sounds wonderful!
Just creative, fun and enjoyable!
Love this. Idina has the voice of an angel.
If only she did this at the Oscars :]
Idina is so cool. love her
See, look, if they had let Idina be relaxed and sing the full song at its normal pacing, she would have completely smashed it at the Oscars. Which she did regardless of not being at her best
OMG she hit the last note perfectly finally !
Fockin love how much Black Thought likes these. Thats one happy dude
Why am I imagining Elsa singing this while wearing dreadlocks?
*****
Savant, maybe
god damnit, now i can't stop picturing it. lmao
*****
Oh Im definitely loopy enough to like this version of the song
Stupidity is a relative term however cause could mean silly or naive and I'm not either(Even if the Dreadlocked Elsa's dress is red/yellow and green and instead of snowflakes there is little marijuana leaves in the sparkles of her magic)
*****
Have to be a little doof to be willing to watch this on youtube when I wont watch his "very long Saturday night Live skit" show Monday to Friday(Half expect Jimmy to shout "Live from New York it's Saturday Night Live" at the end)
***** before you call somebody stupid make sure you know how to spell the word first.
Wow this is amazing. What incredible talent. And they’re all having a blast doing it. Amazingly well done!
I'm still here for the banana shaker guy💛💛 and jimmys smile at 2:40 made me smile he's just so cute
Proof that she can hit that note. That Adele Dazeem imposter has nothing on the real Idina.
What the heck? What is wrong with dislikes... Nobody can't sing "Let it go "perfectly like she does.. This one was absolutely perfect
I want to jump in that band
thats the Roots from Philly. doubt you are on their level

It sounds as if two youtube videos opened in two different tabs and started playing altogether. it is nice really pleasing to hear.
This was so great! :D
But, what happened at the Oscars, though? :/
orchestra was rushed-----> no time for breathing------> you can't get high notes
Let's just say Travolta completed through her off with his intro..
spafan WDW Orchestra?
She was ahead of the track quite often and her voice sounded like it was gonna break anytime. :/
Actually, it was Idina that was rushing. The orchestra had to play faster to keep up with her. She was really nervous and a bit tense. Also, this version is much slower. I think she still did a pretty good job at the Oscars, but this version is definitely better. :)
swimnut314 ok, I've seen the oscars performance again, you're right. she was way too nervous! you can see her hand shaking! but you have to admit that as the song was going more quickly than the original version, she didn't have time to breathe before the final note and cracked.
She did a better job singing here than she did at the Oscars.
She had really high nerves leading up to the Oscar performance.
Who wouldn't be nervous singing at the Oscars?? Travolta surely didn't help her nerves!
I agree! Maybe she was nervous the other night. She's hitting her notes here, probably because she's more relaxed & having fun
SnowWhite89
HA! That's for DANG sure!
She was performing a very technically challenging song in front of the not just this country but millions of people around the world and had only one shot to get it right. This one was performed with instruments found in an elementary school classroom. Now which performance was noticeably more stressful?
Every time I watch one of the school intstruments thing I LOVE it!!
why are people being so negative?
Because they want Idina to sound exactly as she does in the movie. How they think she can pull that off without the recording equipment and multiple takes to get the song perfect is beyond me.
ZhangtheGreat A 1,000 likes!
Some people just don't like things when they become popular. They perceive the film as not being worth the hype when compared to other media that they enjoy.
People like to bash and MOST people have very little knowlege of music. Billboards top 40 proves that year after year.
Menschen sind immer Böse ....
I LOVE Adele Dazeem!
I really do like Idina as a performer, even if I'm not a huge fan of her voice. She definitely started singing here in a more relaxed way, it certainly was off, but it really came out as the video goes on; you can hear the Elsa in it from the movie more and more until the end. She should have just begun belting it out instead of easing into it.
You're my favorite commentator in this entire section ^-^
Finally, someone who says both points of view. You are a pro commenter.
its sounds so much better in the movie... but of course they mess with it... its way too high here
Love this version and Idina is amazing!
I really enjoy this thing you do with that excellent group and affcourse the great artists!! Congrats!
idina at her worst still sounds better than everyone today in music!!
She didn't do well at the Oscars, and i don't know why, but this performance shows that her singing is top quality even when paired with school instruments.
She was probably nervous as hell right after mr travolta fucked up her name. I would be even more nervous. Nevertheless she went out there and still performed the best she could. #fanzel for life!
hella random white guy in the back
+pejamin1 How is he random? I'd say the guy in the bottom right is more random than he is.
+pejamin1 I only realised when i read this comment and i was already at 3:30 xD
+god Because he's not Jimmy Fallon, Idina Menzel or a part of The Roots
+pejamin1 Oh my god--yes!!! I just noticed that for the first time! Hahahahahaha
+god Because he's not apart of roots, he is just some white guy, theres usually another emember of roots that plays on guitar, so yes, he is random as hell.
What a highly talented and amazing singer,,, her voice is amazing,, and that high note was.... AMAZINGGG
This song is so beautiful, any version of it is great
