Since Murphy Lab is all over the place, public perception seems to make it necessary to advertise the ‚bread and butter‘ custom shop line - which is also beyond 6k bucks. Why do they even still produce the USA line? How is this justified, marketing wise? Gibson for the poor man? I‘d really be interested in their selling volumes, per these three model lines. I am not criticising their quality, they seem to have changed sth since the 60s anniversary models - baking the wood maybe? - which led to less variance and great tone. The custombuckers are really good pickups. I owned a beautiful 2016 R8 for a number of years, and played, amongst others, an extensively aged 10k Murphy, it was a fantastic instrument and even came on par with my old battered 850€ Greco, pimped with Mojo Beastbuckers 😂 Your videos are always great!
all these sounds are not those I like : I like Paul Personne, Gary Moore, Sykes, White so all with the neck pickup with a beautiful sound I don't find here so sorry next !
3:37 Hear that hum? Man do I love p90s!! Just recently purchased a gold top with p90s and it’s fantastic.
I always go back to the 1959 Murphy Lab kindred fade reissue whenever I'm there. In my opinion the best Les Paul in there.
You had me at Mr. Speed! 🤘🏼🤘🏼
I lucked out big time with my 58, very tight and consistent flame that you can see even through the bourbon burst by the poker chip

That fretboard is tragic on that R8
