audience have changed there taste for mainstream cinema... Big actors loosing shine and audience giving better recognition for movies like
Kadaisi vivasayi, vaazhai etc... It is moving similar to malayalam

Not because of Rajnikant, it is because Tamilians support their good movies uncompromosingly. For us, some people will never support some movies due to caste. Otherwise we would have been on top. Also Ilayaraja and AR rehman played a role, not Rajnikant. People used to crack Rajni jokes up until 2010.
From 80s to mid-nineties, Chiranjeevi's market was bigger than Rajnikant's.

నా opinion ప్రకారం తెలుగు కన్నా తమిళ్ film ఇండస్ట్రీ ఎప్పుడూ గొప్ప కాదు.....
ఎందుకంటే ఇండియాలో బాలీవుడ్ తర్వాత పెద్ద film ఇండస్ట్రీ తెలుగు ఇండస్ట్రీ నే....
ఐతే తమిళ్ సినిమాలకి ఉన్న అవకాశం ఏంటంటే, K బాల చందర్ గారి era నుంచి, ఆయన సినిమాల వల్ల రజిని & కమల్ గారికి తెలుగులో కూడా మంచి మార్కెట్ ఏర్పడటం... ఆ తర్వాత మణిరత్నం and శంకర్ ఆ పరంపరని తెలుగులో చాలా ఎత్తుకి తీసుకెళ్లారు....
But ఆ సమయంలో తెలుగు సినిమాలకి తమిళ్ లో మార్కెట్ ఉండేది కాదు....
తెలుగు లో రిలీజ్ ఐనా గొప్ప సినిమాలు అన్ని, ఇక్కడే రిలీజ్ చేసుకొని, ఇక్కడ వచ్చిన కలెక్షన్స్ తోనే మనం తొడలు కొట్టుకునే వాళ్ళం కానీ, అప్పటి దర్శకులు, నిర్మాతలు & హీరోలు తెలుగు సినిమా స్థాయిని మార్కెట్ ని పెంచే ఆలోచనలు చేసేవారు కాదు...
1970s నుంచి తెలుగులో కూడా గొప్ప దర్శకులు ఉండేవారు...
ex. K విశ్వనాధ్ గారు శంకరాభరణం నుంచి ఆయన అన్ని సినిమాలను తెలుగుతో పాటు ఒకేసారి దేశం అంతా రిలీజ్ చేసే సాహసం చేసినట్లయితే తెలుగు సినిమాలకు కూడా ఎప్పుడో దేశావ్యాప్తంగా బ్రేక్ వచ్చేది.. & ఆయన కొన్ని great movies లను తమిళ్ హీరో ఐన కమల్ తో చేయటం దురదృష్టం (సాగరసంగమం, స్వాతిముత్యం, శుభశంకల్పం etc...)
అలాగే సింగితం శ్రీనివాసరావు కూడా కమల్ తో పుష్పకవిమానం, విచిత్రసోదరులు, చేయటం బాధాకరం.. అలాగే ఆయన చేసిన ఆదిత్య369, భైరవద్వీపం లాంటి modern or exprimental సినిమాలను pan india సినిమా ల లాగా రిలీజ్ చేసుంటే తెలుగు సినిమా ఖ్యాతి ఎప్పుడో kollywood & bollywood కి తెలిసుండేది...
అలాగే వంశీ గారి సినిమాలు కూడా చాలా క్లాసిక్ గా ఉండేవి... వాటిని కూడా తెలుగుతో ఒకేసారి తమిళనాడు లో రిలీజ్ చేసుంటే బాగుండేది..
అలాగే RGV గారు, శివ, క్షణక్షణం, సినిమాని అప్పుడే (రాజమౌళి లాగా) దేశావ్యాప్తంగా రిలీజ్ చేసుంటే తెలుగు సినిమా ఎక్కడికో వెళ్ళిపోయి ఉండేది....
రంగీలా సినిమాని అమిర్ ఖాన్ తో కాకుండా తెలుగు హీరో తో చేసి, తెలుగు నుంచి pan india సినిమా గా రిలీజ్ చేసుంటే అద్దిరిపోయిండేది...
అలాగే మెగాస్టార్ చిరంజీవి, 1990s ending లోనే చిరు తో "అబూ భాగ్దాద్ గజదొంగ" అనే హాలీవుడ్ సినిమా స్టార్ట్ అయ్యి, కొన్ని కారణాల వలన ఆగిపోయింది..
ఆ సినిమా అప్పట్లో కానీ పూర్తి చేసి రిలీజ్ అయ్యుంటే, చిరంజీవి గారు రజినికాంత్ గారిని cross చేసి సౌత్ ఇండియా సూపర్ స్టార్ అయ్యుండేవాడు...
ఇంకా మన టాలీవుడ్ మన్మధుడు కింగ్ నాగార్జున, 90s లోనే మహేష్ భట్ అనే హిందీ డైరెక్టర్ క్రిమినల్ అనే సినిమా చేసాడు, అలాగే రక్షకుడు అనే మూవీ అప్పట్లో సౌత్ ఇండియాలో సనసేషనల్ గా రిలీజ్ అయ్యింది.....
But ఆ మూవీస్ కనుక హిట్ అయ్యుంటే hmmm.....అద్భుతాలు సృష్టించేవి, జస్ట్ మిస్.......
K రాఘవేంద్రరావు, దాసరి నారాయణ రావు గారి era నుంచి, పూరి జగన్నాధ్ వరకు వాళ్ళు చేసిన ప్రతి ఒక్క మూవీ ని, సౌత్ ఇండియా అంతా రిలీజ్ చేసి, తెలుగు సినిమా/తెలుగుహీరో మార్కెట్ పెంచి ఉంటే తెలుగు సినిమా ఎప్పుడూ గ్రేట్ గానే ఉండేది................✍️
