I've tried to do some math on this case: From one of bilibili's videos I have seen, I know, that N15 boss 5 hit combo deals 4825x5=24125 physical damage. Hoederer with lvl3 module, but without pot 5 has whooping 28% unconditional sanctuary. So full damage from 5-hit combo is reduced to 17370. (Technically, Hoed has 1351 def against every hit here). Still, over 17k is giant number. In comparison, Hoed base HP (second biggest in the game) with module3 is 6938. In addition, there are still boss summons that will hit your ops if your medics would not heal it fast enough and Dusks birbs, that are no less pain in the ass. So medics have plenty of work besides healing your operators. For sucessful boss tanking we either need: A)enough health to withstand boss and big amount of heal or B) even more and faster heals to refill Hoed health bar inbetween boss attacks. Combo lasts for around 5 sec. Here is a field where Hoederer's S1 scales amazingly. S1 is charged by attacking enemy and it heals HP percentage, so when Hoederer gets attack speed bonuses, he heals faster, and when he gets HP bonuses, every single heal become bigger. He also works great with Eiya, because Eiya buff HP for operator, so she buffs Hoederer's self healing. If it is not enough, crusher modules increase healing recived by 20%. Besides healing, Hoe's S1 of course increase damage. Powerstrike-type skills scales great in rougelike mode because of build-in multiplier, that allows to get more out of any ATK bonuses. In this video Hoe gets both enough HP to withstand the boss - 19767 and plenty of attack speed to heal off most of the damage. He gets 4-5 healing hits. With 19767 HP, 25% max HP healing and 20% healing encrease from module he should Heal 30% own HP every powerstrike. So 19767x0,3=5930. But on video he heals double of that amount - 11860. I guess, some collectible helps. With 4-5 heals in 5 seconds Hoederer heals 47440-59300 HP in 5 sec. Great numbers, right? And don't forget that here is Eiya, with her massive amounts of pure healing. Suzuran here assisted to kill Quillion faster, but if she wouldn't help, Hoe and Eijya would probably still have enough gas to sucessfully chop down the boss. TLDR. Hoederer in IS5 scales great as tank+dd P.S. Hope I got numbers right.
Ulpianus can be stronger, but requires micro. s3 is a "move" which can use +sp on deploy, and I've seen constant s3 spam. Hoederer is easier helidrop and afk, with less reliance on support.
@@kyarumomochi5146 ? You cannot garantee initial SP relics for ulpianus, but you can garantee golden chalice (and +500 aspd) for hoederer in IS5. If you have initial dp +18 and +12 relic go on, but that's beside the point
@exunektes7193 Because of relic spam is absurdly easy to get Ulpian those relics and Ulpian has MUCH MORE relics to make use of compared to hoederer, are you trying to argue that hoederer is even close to ulpians scaling? Because he is not even close my guy, there is a reason ulpian was the only unit banned alongside wisadel for IS5 challenges
