Why are her announcements so weird on the 442s

Why do they have letters in each coach ?

The letters are for coach identification. Useful for seat reservations. Your seat could be J16. Seat 16, coach J.
It's also helpful in a situation should you need to tell the train guard, or British Transport Police.
We can text the transport police if there is a problem or disturbance. It helps them get to the right part of the train.
