The title is "Actors who ruined their careers" BUT Vivek Oberai never ruined his own career. Salman ruined him. He honestly would've done the same to Abhishek if he wasn't Amitabh Bachan's son. Salman was obsessed with AIshwayria for a long time. Actually he becomes obessed with his girlfriends easily. The snarky comments he said about Ranbir while he was in a relationship with Katrina.. Salman is messed up. He can't treat a girl right when she's his girlfriend and then bully everyone who tries to date that girl.

Prakash Sharma well, the height of super stardom couldn't be sustained by anyone on this planet! These third rate stars like SRK and SK wished they had one tenth of his popularity or talent. Rajesh's art house movies like Khamoshi, Avaishkar, Itefaq , Safar, or Anand were smashes. Can you imagine SRK making Avaishkar.
Rajesh was the second highest paid actor after Amithabh in the 80's and still holds the record for solo lead actor in the most number of movies. And it is a testament to this amazing star that we are discussing him even after his death.
Prakash Sharma whatever his behavior was that was his personal issues. He was a shinning star unlike which we have never seen. He was and always be the star that shone the brightest and brightest stars burn out faster. He was still a star for most of his life and will be remembered forever. The rest is just gossip and ear say. I like Kamal Hassan a lot, probably the best actor in India but Hassan wishes he a tenth of Rajesh's screen charisma and charm!

Another big thing in 90's there was no UA-cam ,F.B,.. & also very less no. Of people had access to internet so actors with less leverage in media,politics,underworlds had no such big platform to put forward their opinion to the larger public unlike the way social media helped a lot in the case of Arijit,Kangna so they survived and got enough support from their fans.

On top of it there are alternative mediums now like UA-cam Netflix etc. People can now only be ruined by their good or bad deeds and nothing else. BTW, vivek was hot. We all wanted a vivek to follow us like he did rani in sathiya. It was a beautiful movie.

Vivek Oberoi is a classic example, of what happens when a rising young icon takes on the establishment of the industry. The only actors who were able to survive a behemoth like Salman Khan was SRK and Ranbir Kapoor, partly due to a vibrant fanbase and industry support.

She gave a scathing interview to ANI Media channel which has been completely eliminated from the internet! It was a seven part interview of which only one is left on a heavily virus infested website. That interview needs to be released if you want to know the truth. In it she was very composed and articulated herself with great intelligence. Nothing like that madcap the media wants to make her out as. Her story is quite similar to Marilyn Monroes as both met a similar demise under similar circumstances.

I personally feel that including people who have/had mental illness in the list of people who “ruined their careers” is insensitive and belittles their suffering. Talking about mental illness in the same context as someone who called a press conference or made bad choices puts their illness in the same category almost implying that they had a choice about the illness and thus ended up “ruining their career”. It perpetuates the stereotype that people choose to be depressed or paranoid rather than understanding that it was an illness that they were dealing with. Just think about it, would you put someone who had a physiological illness such as cancer in this list? Probably not. We need to understand mental illnesses as real illnesses and not something that people are going through because they couldn’t deal with the stressors of life.

We use ruthless and unsentimental phrases like - 'That's their job' ; 'That comes with the fame' ; 'With big bucks comes heavy scrutiny' ; 'Big stars have consequences to their stardom' ; 'Public figure have no private life' and this list goes on and on... I think his downfall was because he spoke his mind and did not kiss ass.
