Track Speeders on the Cotton Valley Rail Trail "Railfan Style", September 14th, 2024

I decided to do something different that weekend. My friend has a railroad track speeder and he invited me to ride at the Cotton Valley Rail Trail. He also informed me that they were doing an open house and other people would be running their cars as well. I have to say, the Cotton Valley Rail Trail is one of the coolest trails and events I've seen yet.
They did a total of three runs to the end of the trail and back. I arrived about an hour late for the first run, so I rode out to meet them on the way back to see if I could catch a run-by. For the second round trip, I rode on my friend's car, and on the third, I found an outpost and watched the rest of the cars pass on their outbound journey. After doing some more exploring, I caught the club again at Fernald Station after their final run, pulling up to the shed to be put away for the day.

My special needs son really likes speeders and is glad that even though it is called the Cotton Valley Rail Trail the rails are still intact and the trail is in certain places beside them and not over them.
