Progressive is such an annoying label really. This to me sounds more like tribal / tech house rather than progressive house. But if Digweed and co play it...then it has to be labelled "prog".
@@tau-ceti Labels can be annoying and purists discussing them also are, but this belong to the dark prog category for sure... just listen to the driving bass, the delays, the fx, the stabs, the vocals, the length of the track, etc.. it has all the elements to be considered dark progressive house within a basic tribal/percussive framework (only toms). I can direct you to some strictly progressive house tribal tunes, with full-on congas, timbales and percussion, etc... like the ones mixed by Seve Lawler or Tenaglia for example. As for tech-house, that would be a stretch (granted, its a subgenre label that was and is very seldomly applied, even sometimes just because of the hihat upbeat pattern)... Gideon Jackson, Terry Francis, Eddie Richards are proper "pure" techhouse; later, it was also applied to slightly slower, micro, funky house tunes like the ones on the Robsoul label or producers like Grant Dell and Jay Tripwire. Not trying to be a purist know-it-all a-hole, just giving my pov based on years of experience in electronic genres ;)

Hello, i am a long time lover of techno, house, trance, etcetera, not the oldest one (27 y o) so i surely have missed the best times. I am discovering the whole world of progressive electronic music, i still cannot understand what fall under progressive techno, progressive house or progressive trance, they all share a very similar vibe of groove, melody and structure, and i never feel that they come closer especially to trance or techno or house, they just sounds like a melting pot of all of those, but with added value. If you can enlighten me i would be grateful. It is anyway one of the most beautiful thing that electronic music have to offer, i am discovering gems everyday form progressive channels 🙏👌
