Filming through the change of seasons was one of the things that made Avonlea seem so real. I know it must have been hard on the cast and crew but as a viewer I love it.
This was wonderful. While I'd known for years that the series and Anne Of Green Gables was mostly filmed in Ontario (with a few exterior scenes filmed on Prince Edward Island) it always brought back my memories of my childhood living and later visiting relatives in rural Alberta.
Thank you so much for sharing with us !!! I'm a big fan of the show and would watch every Sunday night . I have been lucky enough to meet a few of the actors who acted in the show . Its great to hear more about what went on behind the scene of this Fabulous show !!! Thank you to all who worked so hard on this Beautiful show called Road To Avonlea I still watch it to this day on DVD !!! Big Hugs xoxo =)
@@elisharif9478 It's set in PEI, and the aerial shots and some of the establishment shots are of PEI (like the aerial shot of Gus' lighthouse is Seacow Head lighthouse on the northwest tip of PEI). The filming was done in Ontario and they dyed the roads and dirt red to look out PEI red dirt, and they tried to recreate PEI. They did a really wonderful job because it looks a lot like it does here!
I normally love BTS type stuff, but for some reason, this one was a little heartbreaking! Of course I knew, deep down, that none of it was real; but actually seeing them standing there on empty ground, where once my favorite childhood show took place...I don't know, it's a strange feeling! Interesting to find out that the King house was the same as (the back of) Green Gables, though!
Very interest watch Avonlea scenes Where made really. I watched this movie very long time ago in not knew how recorded and Where. Is this really town or fake Hollywood?
Hi! Filming in Ontario was convenient and cost effective and the environment was perfect for replicating the authentic PEI look. There was a second unit that filmed in PEI, so not everything was filmed in Ontario.
some new people , some of the new generation we will remain at the heart of this series as long as I ziva..izvaredna and very instructive series was .....Jackie Burroughs--1939-2010.

wow!! This was really informative. I still wonder what happened to Harmony Cramp. She was a great Cecily. Both actresses were.
