I agree with your points. I also think it may be hard to understand the concept of "small" for people who never experienced it. Better would be to SHOW the actual sizes and portions as they are being described
My husband is French, born and raised in France, and though most of what you say is true, they DO, in fact, eat at regular times which includes a 4pm snack, between lunch and dinner.
I also did what the fench women say,eat yougurt with or without a little fruit and your stomach will go flat only if you eat the yougurt til the stomach is down then eat a small sinsible meal to control your healthy weight,at dinner time,i seen a big difference controlling my belly with yougurt ,does truly work to get it down,so eat as much yogurt as you want when you wake up for the day to help, then a small meal when you are ready.
As a French person if you wanted to snack on a chocolate bar, ice cream, packet of crisp, smoothie, yogurt etc, when would you eat it? In your goûter? Or would you even eat those food?
@@abcxyz-cx4mr As French people, we do not snack, it is not an obsession for us, that we eat when we were hungry. The sweets are intended for birthdays, parties, weddings and more generally for cooking ourselves. The French eat at fixed times and for many children, at 4 p.m., they are entitled to a mini colassion (like a small croissant or a fruit)
They also consume large amounts of highly saturated fat and they don't consume polyunsaturated fats, i.e. vegetable oils. Check out Brad Marshall's Croissant Diet and ROS Theory of Obesity, and Dr. Paul Saladino's podcast in which he explains in great detail the mitochondrial mechanism that saturated fat triggers to keep humans metabolically healthy, and how polyunsaturated fats high jack that mechanism
There was a French comic strip where some Americans came to stay in Paris and the first thing they asked their hosts was "Where's the fridge?". At this point they got kicked out.
Basically, it's not that different from many American diets. All people should endeavor to eat healthily and in moderation combined with exercise. I sometimes take a small snack between lunch and dinner and try to make it something healthy most times. I find that helps me do not be ravenous at dinner time and allows me to eat a smaller dinner than what I would if I was really hungry and didn't eat something. By doing the things that I have described above, has allowed me to lose 100 lbs. I didn't count calories. I simply did what I stated here.
The ‘no snacking’ is the hardest aspect for me! I get hungry b/w breakfast and lunch around 10-11am, after lunch at 4pm, in the evening at 6pm, and later on at 7pm.
GreziIIo - maybe, but it doesn’t seem like a lot to me, sometimes I snack on healthy food like fruit, veg, hummus, other times it’s usually cheese on crackers, yogurt, tea with biscuits.
@@abcxyz-cx4mr You're not sick, don't listen to that rude individual. You said you get hungry before meals which I would say for you to make your meals more satisfying.
I'm french and though most of what you said is true I would say it applies more to higher class people... most French people aren't this healthy you forgot to mention how much alcohol participates to one's social life and wine, cider, beer, bourbon etc... are oh so heavy when it comes to calories. Most adults would drink a glass of wine a day which on the long run contributes to a lot of weigh gain it would have been good to mention the bad too so that it doesn't look like you romanticise the French way of life
I am living in Spain after moving from Seattle. I am not happy here and plan on moving to France which are where my father's side is from. My father's family are all french and still live there. 1) they smoke and nicotine cuts the appetite 2) they dont eat 3) they are very frugal people, they count every penny, and dont like to spend money even on food.

Yes! Please show us a typical plate portion that is common in France.

They walk a lot in France . Hardly any lifts climb stairs. Take the metro
More people need to invest time into this way of living. They know what they’re doing

Uhh....I don't know about the seasonal thingy.. ha. When I want a strawberry shake I want a Strawberry shake. ;)
That was very interesting, my Grandfather was born in France, at 13 he came to Canada then the U.S. I want to eat like a French woman!!👧🦋
Great reminders! The French also walk everywhere.
By smoking constantly.
Smoking doesn't curve one's appetite and this stereotype is just distasteful
What do they eat in Barcelona because I've never seen so many hot women in one place anywhere else
Hahaha...talking about supersize me America!! I just found your channel and I'm loving it!
I am learning English now. I wonder if anyone knows what did she say in 1:06? I guess it's not "how do they can away with that." So what it is?
That is exactly what she said.

In a nutshell, I can’t survive in France.
Pretty much.
😆 you would survive just fine. You would just have to have your own stash and don't expect to eat in french restaurants between meals. LOL
1) they smoke all the time and nicotine cuts the appetite. 2) they dont eat.
and burning calories gossiping
Thank you for just saying it how it is😂
Your comment is stupid ....
@anastasia46 100% correct!
3) they run to catch the metro
They eat mostly fruits and vegetables, hardly any protein. On less than 1000 calories per day
Nobody:
Me: having my 8th meal while they talk about portion control
They walk a lot
Also the French usually drink their coffee black, a cup of black coffee has almost 0 calories.
How about black tea, no calories too?
Calories in calories out. Not rocket science.
