    Thanks for this video it saves me a lot of time testing. I'm using 4gb vram and my system ram is 16gb only. No significant boost in FPS when increasing vram on AMD APU's. Resizable bar is not compatible with Cezanne processors although turning it on the bios allows it to modify the memory configutration. The only thing that will increase the performance is overclocking the cpu and gpu and of course faster ram.

    leaving this here as well about my advice. man I can tell you what is my experience, hope it helps: until today I had 2x8gb = 16 CL17 3600mhz and 4 gb redirected to gpu. since today I have 4 of those , not 2. total 32 gb . i straight up redirected 8gb to my apu just to be sure and have another 24gb RAM - 19 usable since windows uses some. the changes are : my pc can now play 4k videos without stuttering. something that before was unwatchable. literally pictures. also, before - i used to play gta 5 rp and because I record, only during recording ,my fps would drop significantly. now since I made the change, I can record and play with the same fps. so no more frame dropping during recording. also, I think photoshop will work smoother since I also edit. video editing the same. so this is what to expect. From my personal experience with this config from last 2 years almost, I recommend this built whole heartedly but with 32gb RAM, not 16gb. The change is subtle as described above, if you are a pro user, like high demand - 32 gb. if you dont care 16 works. i got the same RAM I already had, just 50% off the initial price. a freakin bargain - I have 2x Kingston FURY Beast RGB 16GB DDR4 3600MHz CL17 Dual Channel Kit =4 x 8gb

(And I did it with a fresh reinstall of Windows 11 for these tests...) I hope you'll share your own tests now that you already have 32 GB of RAM.

VRAM is more like "reserved" memory so other apps can"t use it and only GPU and Windows can utilized it, but if the GPU need more than 2GB it will take other ram memory (Shared Memory). So better not to set the vram on more than 2GB because it a waste of ram space utilization in general

      tldr, it takes what is available within limits and isnt capped at .5GB
      btw It can be set to run 16GB VRAM GPU under Linux. The 5600G is a beast for Stable Diffusion Pytorch, Tensorflow etc. can run most of AI applications as well as many high end GPU's/CPUs...

  • @sajadaltamimi1705
    @sajadaltamimi1705 10 місяців тому +2

    There isn't much of a framerate difference between allocating 512MB and 8GB to the iGPU in such a system for this reason:
    You are allocating the amount of system memory (DDR4, DRR5, etc.) and not actual hardware vram (GDDR5, etc.) to the iGPU that is supposed to act as vram. If there is a shortage of system memory allocated to the iGPU, the system will proceed to use more system memory beyond how much is allocated to the iGPU as vram.
    Now the reason for the performance difference is because when the system gives more memory to the GPU beyond how much is allocated, it has to share that memory the CPU which causes performance to suffer a little bit.

    • @eraldorh
      @eraldorh 9 місяців тому +1

      An igpu doesnt use GDDR5 ram in anycase. An igpu uses system memory from ram most systems automatically give them 512mb of your ram to reserve as a video memory, this method merely increases that reserved memory from ram. There is no dedicated vram in for an integrated gpu. Your entire hypothesis is based on false information and thus entirely wrong.

    • @sajadaltamimi1705

    • @eraldorh
      @eraldorh 9 місяців тому

      @@sajadaltamimi1705 No i didnt, you insinuated that the reason theres little difference is that the igpu uses GDDR5 and increasing the vram limit only gives it more memory from ram which is wrong its all from the ram.
      You also said unequivocally that the system will automatically give it more vram from ram beyond what has been set for it in the bios (usually 512mb) which is also completely wrong.
      The last part is so stupid i dont even know where to begin with that nonsense. Theres nothing correct about your comment.

    • @sajadaltamimi1705
      @sajadaltamimi1705 9 місяців тому

      @@eraldorh I said it uses system memory as vram, not GDDR5. Like DDR whatever memory. And if you paid attention to the video, you would see that the more ram allocated to the iGPU, the less non-allocated system memory is used according to the benchmarks. This is what I meant by the iGPU using more beyond what is allocated. Now, the less system memory allocated to the iGPU as vram means that it has to share more with the memory the CPU is using which could cause performance issues.
      I don't think you are reading my comment correctly.

      man I can tell you what is my experience, hope it helps: until today I had 2x8gb = 16 CL17 3600mhz and 4 gb redirected to gpu. since today I have 4 of those , not 2. total 32 gb . i straight up redirected 8gb to my apu just to be sure and have another 24gb RAM - 19 usable since windows uses some. the changes are : my pc can now play 4k videos without stuttering. something that before was unwatchable. literally pictures. also, before - i used to play gta 5 rp and because I record, only during recording ,my fps would drop significantly. now since I made the change, I can record and play with the same fps. so no more frame dropping during recording. also, I think photoshop will work smoother since I also edit. video editing the same. so this is what to expect. From my personal experience with this config from last 2 years almost, I recommend this built whole heartedly but with 32gb RAM, not 16gb. The change is subtle as described above, if you are a pro user, like high demand - 32 gb.

    I set the video card of the 5600G processor to 8GB, I don't see any improvements compared to 4GB

      That's not overclocking, just increasing vram numbers. So, it's safe to do this.

    So in conclusion, dedicating VRAM UMA boost does nothing. so might as well just leave it on Auto UMA Buffer

      No, it removes stuttering and makes gameplay and textures more smooth, it doesn't increase fps.
