- Alright folks. We’re back in the Netherlands at our friends VD Akker and jump into the new S5 Cabriolet. And did you know that while the S4 Sedan/Avant and S5 Coupe/Sportback get the V6TDI engine in Europe, the S5 Cabriolet keeps the TFSI version? This doesn’t make any sense at all, and I wish they would have the great 3.0 TFSI petrol engine with 354hp in the whole range. So this is the only European S4 or S5 to get a petrol engine, huh? That makes no sense. Put the 3.0TFSI into all of them.

Yes I have never understood the diesel engine in the S4,5,6 and 7. Should have just been called "A4 Competition" and so on.
@@Auditography when i was shopping for an S4 avant in 2018, some sales guy told me the S-models will get diesel engines in 2020/21 i got the hell out off there because i thought he was completely clueless 🤔😂 sadly he was not 😢😭

The only reason I did not buy that car is the McDonalds tablet on the dash board. Even the A3 has it right now.

Beautiful car but I prefer the pre facelift S5. Maybe it’s just me but I preferred the original headlights and I don’t like the air vent surrounds on this updated version. Just looks odd to me. Great video though.

Yeah, I’m kind of on the fence with the lights. Sometimes I like it, sometimes not. The main thing that bugs me are the air vent surrounds. Looks odd in silver.

I think mechanically the M4 Cabriolet will be far ahead of the S5. The M440i xDrive is probably the closer BMW competitor to the S5. Mechanically it's a great car but the S5 is much more attractive inside and out. I like the idea of a mild hybrid in the M440i especially with how it improves the auto stop/start. I'm anxiously awaiting the delivery of my 2021 S5 cabriolet.
@@bryanoakley5189 So you chosed to buy AUDI S5 cabriolet over BMW'S M4 cabriolet,even though you stated that the BMW M4 cabriolet is better mechanically is that correct??? Was the price between the two a factor towards your decision on which one to buy??? I always believed BMW'S cars look a lot better and sportier than AUDI'S cars!!! A BMW looks more for younger people and the AUDI'S have the look for a much older person like in their 30's to mid or late 40's!!! I owned a BMW 325i in the late 90's and I loved it, but unfortunately I blew the head gasket and I had to get rid of it due to the high cost of getting it fixed!!! The time I had it it was great but a little high on the maintenance!!! They are both great cars, but I would still choose a BMW over an AUDI any day if i had the chance to buy one over the other!!! That's because I'm still stuck on the sporty look of one over the other!!! Then again that's just me my friend!!!! It's all a matter of taste and a matter of opinion that's all!!! At the end of the day they are both great cars to buy!!! 👌👌👌
@JOSE A. GARCIA Yes, I said I thought the M4 was better mechanically but that I chose the S5 over the M4. Was the price a factor? Not really, since I had already budgeted for the M4. To be fair, time was partly a factor. It would likely be August or September before the M4 cabriolet would be available and I had already been looking for a new car for a year. Though, my S5 should arrive in early July so that's only a couple months.
Yes, the BMW looks "sportier" but that doesn't necessarily translate to "better" IMO. Just look at all of the body lines on the M4, and the disproportionately large grill and the fake side vents. Not a very cohesive design. I think the rear end looks a bit fat, too. Now look at the fantastic clamshell hood of the S5. Notice how seamlessly it joins the body of the car? And of course, the interior of the M4 is just... boring and uninspired (except those crazy carbon fiber seats!). The digital dash isn't anything compared to Audi's digital cockpit.
As for younger vs older buyers, that didn't really play into my decision. Though, frankly, I decided against a C63S at least partly because it seemed like an old person's car (even though I'm an old person. Hah!).

I spoke to Audi UK and they tell me they stopped making the S5 Cab. Looking to upgrade mine to one of these in early 2022? Has anyone heard similar news?

Okay so no-one understands why this still has the tfsi but the sportback/coupé does not?
I think when looking over the whole modelrange and bringing down emissions the TDi was put into the volume models, hence Coupe/Sportback etc. This not being a volume model that probably doesnt sell that many units in Europe wasnt worth reducing emissions on vs type-modelling a new car.
Sad, but probably the reason why Coupe/Sportback and S4 are now TDI...
Probably so. But also a TDI cabriolet will all that smell would never be a good idea.

The diesel v6 has less horsepower (about 10 hp), but has 200 nm of torque more than this. I'd take that trade.

S Model interiors should be equipped with more leather or at least artificial leather. Too much cheap looking plastic in these cars.
