I think the term Legend gets overused a lot now, but with Dylan, Lennon and McCartney that's 3 true Legends who have the work to prove it. I got hooked on Dylan around 35 years ago, I was 15 and had played my brother's Dylan's greatest hits, and thought I must find more, so the first Dylan album I bought was Bringing it all back home, I was blown away, especially side 2 It's Alright Ma (I'm only bleeding) just changed my whole outlook on life, I believe they are the best lyrics I've ever heard, and that Album is a classic. I was 15, now 35 years later I have every Dylan album, including all 15 bootleg series, Side Tracks, live albums, the only ones I don't have is his 'Sinatra' trilogy, which I don't really want. I may buy them one day, just to complete the collection. So glad he got the Nobel prize for literature, just to put it in the faces of people who say he's got no talent. ?? Go back watching X Factor.
My English IV teacher, Mrs. Carter, borrowed my two Dylan albums for a few days (1966). Returning them she said "...I do not care for his voice, but this young man will be remembered as the greatest poet of this century..." 1966. She heard it early on.
I loved his voice because I have the same voice and it gave me the courage to get up on stage and not care so much what people think. And for reference, I was born in 1984. It was in college at the university of Alabama in 2004 when I started to play live. It was something I absolutely had to do.
I heard him sing this at the Festival Hall in London in May 1964. Just Dylan, his guitar and his harmonica. Nearly 60 years later I can still remember the atmosphere.

Great to hear this, way before it was released on The Times They Are A-changin' album. I love this song. The album version when he blasts his harmonica break. Brilliant. So many songs he wrote that were classics. Same as John Lennon and Paul McCartney, writers of many tracks that will live on for generations to come. 3 of the biggest, greatest and most influential Songwriters/Musicians we will ever see. There's some great Songwriters/Musicians just below these 3, like Jagger and Richards, Pete Townshend, Paul Simon, Ray Davies, Neill Young, The Doors, Velvet Underground, Lou Reed, David Bowie, Jimi Hendrix, Sex Pistols, Joe Strummer and Mick Jones, Morrissey and Marr, Ian Brown and John Squire, Elton John and Bernie Taupin, Elvis Costello, Blondie.
