"Current Speedway New Zealand rules stipulate the engine must be no larger the 248 cubic inches, with teams using small block V8 race engines. The estimated power output figure is around 500hp. Most cars tend to run: Toyota VVTI V8 Nissan VK56 V8 Nissan VH41 V8 Ford V8 Chevrolet V8 Jaguar Cars V8"
If the frame is intact these cars keep racing. Blown tyre? keep going Wheel came off? keep going Suspension collapsed or come loose? keep going In regular racing if a car rolls over it goes to the infield, in team racing if the car rolls over and lands back on its wheels without assistance and no frame damage.....you guessed it, keep going. They will drive these cars until they cant drive anymore, be towed off by a tractor, go into the pits fix them and come out next race.
Yes lots these are superstocks it's a full contact allowed sport and this was a race for the final Frankie was 3rd on points and from the uk the nz boys were trying to stop him getting 3rd
@@Racing_trackside He had also run his mouth during an interview just before the race and pissed off a few people who wouldve let him go for the gold otherwise lol.
I get that bumping is allowed, but why would you intentionally go slower to hit someone? I raced sprint cars and go karts before that, the goal is win and do it as fast as possible. This is like a silly mix of really slow sprint cars and bumper cars. This is the kind of thing that makes racing look stupid.
These are called superstocks the are 1.4 ton fully steel cars with v8s in them the class is allowed full contact these were normal races but we also have teams racing this driver is from the uk and the nz lads didn't want him to win so they are allowed to block and even roll him to stop him within the rules
as an extra to what @Racing_trackside has said. theres a full list of racing rules for the class, but the contact is encouraged and is often used to either make sure someone who is higher on points than a friend does not finish well - or at all.... These are expensive machines - some reaching over 100 thousand dollars each.. and they can be almost destroyed in just a few laps during one race - then repaired, sometimes in under an hour to make the next race.
0:58 nearly folds the steering wheel completely inside out haha. Great clip, thanks for uploading.
Strong steering wheel. :)
Yeah! Turned almost completely inside out.
wow that thing absolutely sings it’s heart out ! what engine does it have ?
Pretty sure it's just a v8toyota vvti with an 8 into 1 exhaust

WHAT WAS THAT CHATTERING NOISE, TOWARDS END OF CLIP??
He had a left rear that blew and the rubber was hitting the exhaust cover and made it come lose then off at the end
