Every year, the Grand Rapids independent radio station WYCE hosts a 5+ hour long award show featuring a long list of favorite Michigan musicians. The Jammie awards showcase and honor the work of local musicians and producers. The 16th annual show in 2015 hosted over 20 different bands, performing on two different stages. A free show for all ages. In their last 15 years, the WYCE Jammie Awards have become an opportunity for a variety of local groups to perform under one roof and highlight the music that's made in Michigan.

32 now. remember hearing this song long long ago. seeing them look older hits me hard. the process of aging is beautiful, with accumulating so many experiences - positive & negative. everything means more. this song randomly has been stuck in my head this last week during quarantine. it's hitting harder than ever. music is so different now. but i'm glad this still exists.
Yeah bud. The age gap hasn't changed but our love and our own experiences has changed what that song means has. For me it still gives me the feels😊

I love how clearly Brian has grown and matured over the years. When this song first came out his voice had a more blunt and visceral tone to it. Now he has a more emotionally intelligent and compassionate energy about him and that clearly shows in his music.
The lead singer still looks great , men just age so much better than women !

I had a crush on Brian as a trapped, angry, awkward teen. As a lost, runaway, somewhat more stable, young adult, I met him. He was sweating bad, & surprised I had that blue CD (My early ulzheimers is coming in :/), wever it's called. I've lost it since. He prob. thought I was even younger than what I was. Well, he knew I had to be at least 21.. He gave me his autograph & a hug. I asked him does he ever get on the i.net bc as a teen, I was always in their chat room 🤓😶😀. I don't remember what he said, but he gave me his email. That was in 1 ear, out the other. I don't remember his email, though I'm sure anyone could use it.. His band member (obviously not an original) kept asking me if I wanted to party w/them... my innocent self.. was thinking maybe they just literally mean party? But prob. Not 🤔. I told this dude friend, neighbor of mine that sh & was like "Annie! Seriously?! No." I was like oh,..ok then! Let's roll out then 😅💁. Fast forward & I'm still a mess. But those were some times... kind of.
I didn't even realize I had a chunk of cheese from a burger I ate earlier hanging off my shirt either. Till we left. That was like 14 yrs ago.
