This will be long, so take a seat.
This song echoes the struggle of living in a society without help and goodness for one another. As a society, we are so broken that the only thing we give, are resentment, sorrow, hate, indiference and rejection.
The first verse is entirely political, we know that any government is... essentially corrupt, no matter how many speeches or plans they have in mind to satisfy the people's wellbeing... All governments are corrupt when personal needs and ambitions are more important than to serve the people. But wait, this is not only related to government, but to ANY institution, company, association, or group of interest that influence their members.
The second verse is more important to listen, because in every place and every person, someone has their own perspective on mental health. Yes, this is a *bigger* but _silent_ issue, that even today, many people don't have the tolerance, piety, and compassion to share about.
All of the evils and worrying things that happen in the world, happen because, as individuals and in general, we are weak-minded, although on different levels because of our upbringings, and circumstances. Depending on where we are now or were in the past (the future is still unknown to us), we want to live fully. Sadly, there are people that are more and less weak-minded than us, that will prevent us from that because they too, are broken inside. We are just human beings, with our own qualities and flaws, understanding life, surviving life, and simply, trying to live in peace.
When we want to open what we feel or think, there is the probability that some will listen carefully, but many others will take this as a misinterpretation and stay on alert of ourselves. So that's the question of the chorus.... are we REALLY helping? Do we REALLY care?
This song tries to send this message: Have the most little thing of LOVE, in order to help those who don't have love, and have the most FEAR, to valiantly take action and help for those people living in constant fear, to be better people, to be a BETTER society.
In my experience I learned that fear is the opposite of love, but fear is not bad, it's just that we have the wrong perspective of fear. Fear lets us learn and grow too and to be strong in the face of adversity. The thing that will always stay, is how good or bad we are to live. "We should use our own judgment."
Do good, and always try to do good. There will be a time when we will not be able to help someone, but before we come at that time, help now, before it's too late.

I'm still surprised and scared when I hear stuff like this. In my country, many people still believe that "society" and the state are "us" together, not "them there" (the criminals). If you think you live in a democracy and choose who will rule, you see yourself as included and co-responsible. In states that are not democratic, the rulers can be seen as "those others". Is the US a dictatorship? I guess you can’t consider yourself ”the leader of the free world” anymore, right?
