Harry - this song is so universal and beautiful. Martin created one of the most emotive melodies. Still a challenge to play, but Hawaiians find some solace in its longing similar (to me) to Ipo Lei Manu. What man does to their fellow man. Like Bob Marley said, if we cannot be brothers and sisters, then the politicians will control us. Liko knew this. We cannot overlook IZ’s Hawaii 78. Who can stop the pain of colonialism? These are my three answers if we apply what they are teaching us. Maybe it all began on Gabby’s 12 string? He set us free. I sadly miss Martin and Cyril P - see you soon.
Hi Harry, I am watching from North Wales, UK. Have been enjoying slack key for some time now, though am not very good at the guitar. I have had some success learning slack key lullaby, though I seem to play too fast and it would never have the "lullaby" effect!! My next attempt will be at Radio Hula, which you have made an excellent job of showing in three parts on here, so many thanks.
Did I detect a phrase from "Silver Threads Among The Gold" ? have you done a lesson on this, or do you have a tab for it? That was absolutely beautifully played on a fine guitar. Thanks for sharing.
This video is one part of three. The guitars were made by friend Rollo Scheurenbrand. Check him out at koaguitars.com. All three guitars were made from a single koi tree.. Check the show notes.
Talofa from the 757! Fell in love with your Sanoe rendition and been following ever since, learning from you! Is there any way you can do an ukulele tutorial on "Pua Lililehua" ? It's one of my mom's favorites! God bless
You play so lovely and when you started singing it was perfect. Thank you for this. Going to learn how to play it.

Do you know just how good that sounded? Wow. That was awesome!
Aloha Wanda!
It's the guitar! :)
I have to ask whether you intend to teach us how to play this sweet tune, PLEASE!
Aloha David!
Someone already requested it and it is already filmed with many other shows so it's in the editing stage! :)
