@@sren1446 Just find somehow to keep track of cards on the table. Still its easy i think. I have yet to try it. I agree there is some confusion. But try the easy solution first.
@@sren1446 they "reveal" how many they took by counting out the cards in front of you to get to the one they have to remember. At which point the number of cards in their pocket plus one plus the number of cards they put on top of their card is where their card will be when you put their initial stack back on top. In other words, you have placed the chosen card under a number of cards equal to whatever number of cards they initial took plus however many they placed on top of the selected card. The initial "don't tell me how many cards you took" is just a misdirection from the fact that you are counting the cards they lay down - which is obfuscated by the couple additional cards you add on top - such that the position of their card is not the same as the number of the cards they initial took.
Steve, You always explain your card tricks very well, but I am confused on this one. I just don't get this one and I think some of the others feel the same. If they are counting their packet in secret, then how do you know how many cards to count to find their card?
But if we're watching them counting after they keeo the pile separate isn't it just evident how many cards they've picked in the start? Hence the position of their selected card.
Maybe you could have them look at each card they deal face down and you watch their eyes for a reflection or something else. But instruct them to go past their number so you don’t know how many cards they actually removed. Have them replace the cards they cut on top of the dealt cards, and put them all on top of the deck.
The first pile they take and look at by themselves then they hide it ok now you look and so do they they put down cards on table while remembering what card they got real quick you then count the sound of the cards being placed add 1 and it work
This is how i do it Get them to take a few cards, and then remember the number of cards. (say for example its 6). They can keep these in their hand. Then I take the rest of the cards and one by one show them the card from the top and place it face down , ask them to remember the card when it gets to their number. I keep showing them cards until i have counted out say 12 and ask them if their number has come up. Then re-assemble the pack , drop their cards on top and its the 13th card. This way you dont "see" the card number and you dont "see" which card is being chosen Also works well with two people. get the first person to take the cards for the number and whisper it to the second person so they can watch for their "card" to be shown You can even do it blindfolded as you are now in control of how many cards are being counted out.
Steve, this is a cool trick, but do you actually watch deal the cards to the table so you know how many there are and You're plus one. The tutorial is a little vague. Happy New Year.
Wouldn't it be better if you counted the cards one by one to the spectator by showing them the picture side and they should remember the card on which their number falls. At some point you ask whether their number has already fallen. You know how many cards you have counted...plus 1. You put the cards on the pile and then the spectator should put his cards on the pile too without you seeing how many there are. The rest stays the same...the card lies in the place counted +1
This is a crazy trick Mr Steve thank you for sharing I have no clue how it works LOL but I'm going to blow some minds with this one my friend thank you again and happy New Year your friend Billy Simmons
Hello and happy new year 🎆🎈🎊 had have a small question… I’m gonna be starting a channel soon as well, where I’ll be post tutorials for my own tricks, so I wanted to hear how you go about posting tutorials for other people’s tricks? Do you just have a huuuuge network of magicians to ask?
Let me guess,After the chosen card place on the pile,we turn around and ask whetner they wanna add some cards. That's the point we secretly count the cards being dealt on top of the chosen card. The explanation was wrong. If we seen the counting,it's ovious we know the chosen card.
I believe by "self-working" he means that there is no sleight of hand - as in, no need for any special break or palming of a card etc. It might be more accurate to call it a purely mathematical trick. In fact, I think you could have the other person do 100% of the card handing, even starting with a brand new sealed deck.
What would count as self-working then? Even a self-working trick involves, well, just that - a trick. And you do have to know how to do said trick. But that's true of all card tricks.🤷♂
@@AgentOccam a self working trick to me is one that does not require gimmicked cards, or true sleight of hand, e.g. palming a card or even a pinky break etc, one where the audience can see every single thing you do, and can even do some of it themselves. Yes you need to manipulate the cards in a specific way - split equally into 26 and 26 - or take out only 8 cards and you need to make sure that certain cards are placed face up or face down etc - and yes you are also misdirecting but in the end even if they watched in slow motion from multiple angles - they would now know how it is done. I suppose this could be true either with an unprepared deck or a stacked deck.

On a second thought I think we all miss something because it works when I choose your exact numbers but it don’t when I choose my own. Thought hard about it and I’m sure we miss something maybe you forgot to mention?
The silly "unsolvable" clickbait is off-putting but I'll bite - we know they've placed their number X down with Y additional cards on top. When they add the original packet on top of that, which is also X, that becomes X+Y+1 to get to their card. Maybe this is just a deliberately crappy one to drive engagement, which is a bummer. The "secret" counting part is also immediately rendered pointless if we then watch and count what happens next.
@steventaputoro ...love the free content, might even support your paid content, maybe it was just a helpful suggestion that doesn't require a snippy response
I feel cheated by "UNSOLVABLE" - Of course the number of cards on the table + 1 will always be the card IF you know how many cards were initially Drawn and the Cards Initially put on the Table MATCH that number. This is First Grade Math.... (Maybe Kindergarten) The "Trick" to this "Trick" Is Not actually explained. The "Trick" is determining the amount of cards Drawn by the spectator without the spectator realizing they're telling you. This is not explained well, if at all. I mean the way this card "Trick" Comes off is: "Hey pick any card Remember it. Place it on the table. Okay I'm going to put 9 Cards on top of it here... and place them all back on top of the deck.. NOW for the MAGIC.. I'm going to find your card (without a shuffle I might add) 1.. 2.......9 10.. Is this your card?" WOW!! Here's a Tip to anyone watching this.. learn a simple bottom deal sleight of hand trick, I learned one when I was 9 years old that's not only easy to do, it confuses most people.
Guys just remember to pause and watch the videos. Its easy peasy. Its done in secret but you count the cards on the table +1
@FaisalIqbal-y6j Yes you are correct you need to know how many cards 👍
Its not easy to know how many card spectator did take ….???

Yah, I like the over-shoulder view & when the cards are face-up. Helps a lot.
Agreed. "First, I want you to secretly think of a number. Now I want you to overtly count that number of cards onto the table for me to see."

OK a question, how do you know how many they are counting if you can't hear them dealing the cards?
Yeah I’m unsure on this also - I guess you have to rely on hearing the card be put down rather than seeing
Happy New Year ftom England, Tell me, when do you start counting the cards? Do you turn around and guess when they start to count thier cards?

Not sure this trick qualifies as self working, when all your doing is counting cards.
