That is the type of excellent instruction that we've all come to know and enjoy. I do not own this Ruger but I always enjoy visiting and learning about different firearm designs. And you absolutely never forget to say two of my favorite words, so I will return them to you and say, "God bless" . God bless you, your family, your viewers, and all folks that you know and care for! Thank you for this channel.
i am a subscriber now, wonderful instruction ! I had just given up on removing the "screw" i know better than to force things along. i did a search of removing the Magaizine button and Wallaa ! i thought you were mistaken when you said it was "easy" until i realized its not a screw ! genius, BTW i am replacing all springs on my Interarms Star Pd 45 Acp ;you are the Man !
Thanks for the quick tip.👍This video, along with your last video on the Marlin receiver sight, are also good reminders of how VERY easy it is to mar the finish,or even ruin a gun by being too heavy-handed,and/or not using the proper tools for the job.
Thanks to your knowledge and instructions I finally got up the nerve to totally take apart my 1911! what do you know, it still works, LOL. Thank you again Love to tinker and clean and see how things work
you deserved my subscription lol love how you made it look so easy thank you i have to learn a lot more I’m a newby and i have my first colt 45acp 1911
That method works on a Ruger, but my Kimber Custom II uses a different method that I have not been able to figure out yet. It does not have anything that looks like a screw or a hex in it.
fingers are numb from pushing on the left side button. also the mag will not go in unless the button is pressed. called colt today and asked for rma. he said 2 days ago I might have to send it in. was trying to take it out to see if there was debree from the new gun assembly
Just pulled my SR1911 out of storage. Couldn't get the magazines to latch and noticed the right side of the mag release was staying extended. I could push it back in to work again but it is a repeatable problem possibly caused by pushing the left side too hard. Any ideas?
The magazine release (clips are simple metal ammo holders that load magazines), is controlled by a single spring in the magazine release catch, and it may be heavier than standard. I would purchase a generic magazine release and install it according to my directions.
But, is it the same process for an ambidextrous magazine release? My latest 1911 has the ambidextrous thumb safety, and the process is a bit different to remove it than a standard 1911.
Sorry, but I can't speak for non-standard product modifications that I have no access to study. You'll have to contact the manufacturer for such details.
Please follow my directions carefully. There is absolutely no pressure applied whatsoever. If your fingers are numb, you are doing it entirely wrong. A screwdriver and two fingers to turn it are all that's needed. My four year old godchild has done it. It is NOT a screw.

I am a left handed shooter. Can the mag release be reversed on the 1911? I have never done it before. Thanks
Thanks!

My Regent R100's clip release is really stiff. How do I loosen it up? Thank you.

Had to watch again. I can never remember clockwise or the other one?
Too late to see your explanation 😢. Thank you for the information
Glad I watched. Looked like a screw. Can’t trust anything nowadays lol
I tried and tried till my fingers are numb and still can not do it

Why do this though?
To upgrade or replace the mag release.

Haag Squares
simple enough, but what happened to your thumb nail! looks like an angle grinder to me.
