Yes this is very "old school", but in those days students would break their hands and continue to train until the bones fused together into one big lump. Unless you have a techer standing over you, this method is not really safe. The whole hand needs to be conditioned so many modern and sub-modern teachers used bags setting on top of the rock with different ingredients such as mung beans, rice, small river pebbles. Then after all that was done, they used a rice paper book about 3 inches thick to strike on top of the rock. Each day one page was taken off, so eventually your hand could hit the surface below the book without harm.
Can I train like this a few times per week every week for as long as I'm able? Or iOS it one of those exercises we should incorporate sparingly ? Glad I found your channel, very informative and interesting
nah im 15 now i have been conditioning my hands for the last 15 days im still training for the iron palm for my dim mak skills i dont use dit dar jow but i use a Pain Killing Medicament called The Great Wall Really Helps though
Osu, been training rock/ ishi for couple months now since seeing chris denwood conditioning vid. Nice and light palm strikes, knife hand and back of hand. Not really noticed anything but a much stronger grip?! Will try and incorporate some form of breathing technique in the future :) Great vids, thanks for sharing!
I like your channel, master, how long does this method take half an hour or more, how many times a week and how long do you notice the results. best regards.

all chinese old kungfu clan have their special medicine to heal after the trainning, trainning without medicine will harm u, u will feel it when u get old, like hard to close your hand or move your finger. so dont push yourself so hard bro. :)
dit da jow,.. yes its available.. also if u do it slow enough and u dont injur yourself it can be done without injury without jow, but it takes twice as loong. With jow, it takes about 2 years to start to become viable. 4 years workable. i can also tell you that woodlock oil is extreamly good too,,.. also there is important qigong set's that go along with the conditioning. need to push energy to conditionging areas before training it, and then after u need to recirculate energy and push excesss energy to the 8 extradinary channels
I tested two conditioning methods on my hands. The left one with a bag filled with rice, the right one with a stone. Both methods are good, and on both I made some progress, but I just made one mistake and my right middle finger knuckle tendon got moved to the center, going over the knuckle itself (making it feel weaker in general; more prone to pain; thinner backfist; looks a lot more pointy in general). I'm going to get that checked out by an orthopaedic.
4rreste that's a clever idea.. and you raise a good point.. that the actual medium a person strikes isnt always so important.. not fir a long time anyway. Sorry to hear you picked up an injury.. was that from the stone or the rice bag..
... breack your bone again, allowing it to regrowth stronger and harder, and etc. By doing this for a lot of years, you become able to punch almost anything hard and almost feels nothing, and of course having no injury. But, of course, increasing the intensity of the blow will make your skin rip. But it's only superficial, your bones will be fine, and the skin heal fast. But due to the visual effect of those injuries, many don't increase the intensity, and thus don't make any progress anymore.
... the difference of intensity for the blows. I don't know precisely on which principle your method is based on, but for mine it's based on the Wolf's Law. Wolf's law is the atanomic law that says that when a bone is broke, it regrowth stronger and harder. Thus the principle of my method it to breack the bones on the surface to allow it to regrowth stronger and harder. But, as soon as your bone is healed, it's more resistant, thus you'll need to apply more strength on the blow to...
I think you do not need a rock such hardening purpose. A flat thick wood will do or the table-top of a thick table. or a sand bag full of fine grain sand or soil.
@MercyGIVEN100 that's awesome thanks for the info. It was my first day training today so got a long long way to go yet.. Surprisingly my hands do feel stronger even after one session
... that's why I oftend says to increase the intensity of the blows, and to be not afraid of the skin being ripped. Yes, if you practice the method in my art and not finishing with the skin ripped, that means you're not doing it with enougth intensity to reach your bones. Except if you're a beguiner, of course. Look at the hands of all Goju-ryu or Uechi-ruy masters, and you'll see how their skins are in the areas with which they strike. It's the best proove that they're doing it like this.
@MercyGIVEN100 I will indeed take it easy. My girlfriend was wtf are you doing ?! Why are you trying to break your hand. Found that quite funny but not my intention in the slightest
(It appears to me that when I said that the skin should be ripped appart, I directly assumed that everyone would understand that I was speaking of the skin at the base of the finger. The skin that come in contact when you punch. I may have made a slightly error on that, so I wanted to clearefy my point.)
Oh, sorry to have offended you by giving my oppinion, Great GrandMaster ! Even if I offended you, I admire your selfcontrol that allows you to stay perfectly calm to explain your point, it is so revelent from the mastery of yourself you acquire during all those years of training ! Meanwhile, I'm able to breack a concrete wall with a punch and a baseball bat on my belly. But I'm totaly sure you achieved better, Great Great GrandMaster of the Shaolin Kung-fu and all others, Lord of the keyboard!
But, well. If you wanna be the 10th guy that I gave him my adress after he said me " give it to me and I'm gonna come !" and never came, well, here it is : 2 rue St Théodore 13001 Marseille. Feel free to come, but MP me with the day and time that I can organize for it.
this is not the proper way of training. You have to use rope and wood. Otherwise put towel or news paper over the rock or the wall. Don't hit it directly with your bare hands
Yes I'm able to do it, but you know, it's not such an extraordinary feat. A lot lot of people can do it. Concrete breack easily, wood too. I never apply jow on my wounds, I never said that, that's the other that said it for me. Why does it differ so much ? It don't differs from the method of my martial art. It comes from what is called the "hard body karate" styles, like the Goju-ryu or Uechi-ryu styles. The main difference between your method and mine comes from...
Thanks, always good to help a true martial artist, even a very little help.
Nice workout. I don't have audio, but I'm already familiar with the training. You inspired an old man to start hitting the desk again. TY.
Quite a nice house, mate! Plenty of room for training!
You are very welcome, and thank you again, I am very glade you enjoyed it.
Awesome video and awesome channel. Thank you for sharing and have earned a subscription from me.

Yes training in dim mak for me takes hours and has many excercises still though i will take your advice thanks for the info

Muy bien Very good still practice , take years for a goal

I've been using a stone is that ok and how often should you use these method
Exelente 👏👏👏👏🙏
after 20 years, I broke my rock in half
On reading traditionial scripts they all saying that all those kind exercises have to be done easy and smooth. kindly increase speed and power.

Iron Body Martial Arts it was from the stone when I was striking with the backfist. But it's not something you can't fix
4rreste I got a few simmilar injuries from my steel shot bag..and the stone will do that too.. it's a difficult method.

We used a wall, every building has at least 4 of them.
I tried this when i was a child and i got my hands badly damaged plus also not even knowing what medicament to use i almost lost my arms
如果在练习之前有性行为,手淫或遗精,请在24小时后再进行此类训练,否则对肾的伤害很大,这绝不是开玩笑,切记!
I got a question is it better to start out with a rock or with iron? (I am been doing the rock for 3 days now! :D)
I thought he was going to crack the rock in half
It cracked after I turned the camera off. Lol
JW is the chi exercises to get ur adrenaline goin ?
I am curious, have you experienced any hand growth from this?
Yes, the bones do get denser, very slowly.
Have been trying just hand clapping and punching into the palms of my hand and slapping the back' of my hands its string
Simmilar to twin locks skill.
@MercyGIVEN100 that's awesome thanks for the info. It was my first day training today so got a long long way to go yet.. Surprisingly my hands do feel stronger even after one session
Very interesting. If I can't find a rock to slap, would slapping my wife do instead, or does it have to be a rock?
Training shouldn't hurt yourself
... that's why I oftend says to increase the intensity of the blows, and to be not afraid of the skin being ripped.

poor rock...doesn't have a clue what it is up against! LOL...great job B.
okay...i may have to find a giant rock......
@MercyGIVEN100 I will indeed take it easy. My girlfriend was wtf are you doing ?! Why are you trying to break your hand. Found that quite funny but not my intention in the slightest
Wolff's law requires nutrition and rest
gooon
(It appears to me that when I said that the skin should be ripped appart, I directly assumed that everyone would understand that I was speaking of the skin at the base of the finger. The skin that come in contact when you punch.
I may have made a slightly error on that, so I wanted to clearefy my point.)
And tomorrow I will find a rock
Wrap it in some layers of towel and strike...
I hear cute birds in the background

Your going to hurt yourself, maybe not now but when your trying to do tan Sao in your 40 's your hands are going to shake
Did you get my answers to your questions ?
But, well. If you wanna be the 10th guy that I gave him my adress after he said me " give it to me and I'm gonna come !" and never came, well, here it is :

Mine all mine.

-He's been at it for years though. After a while you need to abandon the towels and newspaper for the same training effect.
