"Plaintain Boy" is a beautiful video from Timaya, colourful, clear and a Joy to watch.
Going down memory lane, Timaya reflects on where he was years back, when he sold plantains "FOR REAL" but with the mercy of God he counts his blessing as he is in the league of BIG BOYZ.

O boy so many touching stories. My siblings and I sold different things; 'ice water' then graduated to 'pure water', 'soap', 'ice creams', 'water-proof 'etc. But now, all of us are graduates. Most of us are abroad doing very well. I am now a practicing doctor abroad after 1st degree in Naija. Thanks bro for this song, it relates to most of Nigerians.

Timaya has been on the scene, consistent and free of drama. Stays on his lane, one-off the best. 2023
This is more than just a song, it is a story of many Nigerians and the hope of others.
Common plantain seller now changed his name into Timaya....
from a nobody,God made me a somebody and lift me higher...not just made me a big boy, but a very RICH boy...
but I'm still that plantain seller, so even if you sell water or ride okada taxi, Jehova will someday make you prosper...
Very humble of Timaya to give people hope by giving example with his life and how things will eventually change. If you believe in yourself....
There’s just something about this song... hope!
Even where he is Papi Chulo will still and always be our plantain boy. The reminders of the struggle will forever be there to make us go further
this song reminds me of my late junior brother who died at the age of 20, he was the nicest person I've met,R.I.P Chubby.. i miss u so much
