wow, you've really brought together the scoliosis community. I just hit a year since my fusion, and while in recovery, I watched your videos for comfort. after a while, I watched them again to regain my confidence. thank you for helping me love my body
I also have scoliosis, I found your story very similar to mine, I discovered that I had scoliosis when I was 11 years old and my father noticed that I had bad posture, I wore the brace for three years and it hurt me a lot and I was very embarrassed before going to school, I did physiotherapy but it didn't help. Today I'm 23 years old and I still have scoliosis, I feel ugly, I don't wear some clothes out of shame, but I'll improve with that. I really don't see anyone talking about scoliosis, but then I saw your videos and I really admire you. thank you for this video 🩷
you helped me so much scoliosis-wise. i had my surgery end of 2023, and i watched every single one of your scoliosis videos and it helped me so much ❤ i don't know what i would've done without you and your videos x
i’m 14, currently is july for reference, got diagnosed with severe scoliosis in march with an S curve (36 thoracic, 48 lumbar), got spinal fusion in may, and am still recovering! i learned that i needed surgery 2 hours before cheer tryouts haha
Thank you so much for this video. I haven't had surgery yet, but the whole experience was really similar to yours. The brace was absolutely horrible. It did help maybe 5 degrees, but by the next appointment, the curves had worsened a lot. Ty for this video. All of the doctors and articles I've read have been so formal and off-putting, and these videos are just normalizing it, and making people like me feel much more comfortable about it. Right now, I have 2 curves of about 60, and the doctors said that I'm probably need surgery. I'm really scared about it because I know there's been a lot of complications and whatnot. Idk what we're going to do yet, but I feel like surgery is going to be the only option for me. I've never found a channel that has made me feel more comfortable in my own skin. I haven't seen anyone else with a bigger platform talk about their scoliosis, insecurities, and other things. I was going through your videos, and I was almost crying because there was someone else who went through it, and now they're encouraging thousands of people to be more comfortable. Tysm ❤
I've also had surgery, and it helped me so much. Now I can almost do everything I could before. The first couple months are hard, but I think it's worth it. Good luck with your surgery! You got this!
this channel has been so helpful, i’m almost a year out from my surgery and i still get so much pain, and i know it will get better, but it’s really nice to hear that from someone who’s actually been through it
I had 2 Harrington Rods screwed into my spine when I was 13. I was 6'2 200ish pounds. Went to 6' .When I was 19 , the rod on my left side broke loose and went over my spine and into my right shoulder blade. I walked around with the broken rod for 6 years. Finally had both the rods removed and another full spinal fusion at 26 years old. I now stand here at 44 years old at 5'9 220 pounds. And I still have all the X-rays of the broken rod and all the MRI scans of after. I wish anyone that has ever had scoliosis the absolute best in life.😊
You’re so beautiful ❤❤❤❤ I have Scoliosis too! I use to wear a brace too, but apparently my curve got better & been ok since i was in high school. Love you sweetie ❤❤❤❤❤
Thank you so much for this video I was diagnosed with rare form of Ehlers Danlos syndrome a hypermobility genetic Connective Tissue Disorder type 6 kyphoscoliosis type. My first spinal fusions for 100 degree angle on right side of my thoracic spine with a 75 degree angle on the bottom left. I was 15 back brace did not work. I looked like an S My scoliosis was horrible it was going to puncture my lung and I developed this in 6 months because of my k EDS.I am sure it's totally genetic. My last spinal fusions where my t12 to s1 and 2 complete hip replacements because I was in a wheelchair because the top titanium was so heavy it broke the bottom. My total fusion ranges from my T4 to my hips. The last fusion I had was April 2017. The only thing that is not fused is my neck but I had my thyroid removed. I do have my original x rays look alot like yours. I have double Harrington rods over my original Harrington rods all the way for reinforcement reasons. It's called Wings lol.❤ Thank you for sharing your story you look great. I am happy it worked out for you.❤ your not the only one my whole spine is double fused and both my hips are replaced this second time around they used stainless steel this time. Back braces are horrible I had to wear it in bed too. Congrats on your recovery. Excellent video I relate to you ❤
You literally have great posture and I have no idea what ppl are talking about lol. You look great. Thank you for sharing about your experience you are a bad ass!
I am twelve and I have recently been diagnosed with scoliosis. I just had my back x-ray and towards the bottom of my spine the curve is around 25 degrees and the top is around 15. I am thinking I might need a brace but I really am not sure. Thank you for this video!
I love hearing from other’s experience about scoliosis, I was 2 years old when my mom noticed smt didn’t seem right and was diagnosed at 3 years old and got my first back brace as 3, then I wore it for 10 years before they come to the term I needed surgery as I was on 68 degrees but it didn’t work so I had to go in for an second in my last year of high school because they forgot about me and didn’t give all check ups I needed so It was 2 years apart from my first one.
Hey! Thanks for making this video ❤ my question is how does the surgery effects your movement or does it limit it in any way? Can people workout after healing from surgery?
I can limit you for example depending you can’t bend you back where it is fused 😅 but other then that not much to be honest you can still work out and everything like that. Hope that answered your question ❤
Sadly I have it and it’s severe when I went to the doctors my parents blamed me saying I’m lazy and that I caused it but that’s not possible scoliosis is genetics or born w it or it’s because I grew too fast and my spine curved but it made me so sad and the doctors didn’t say anything about it and they just told me to exercise mind you I went to Mayo Clinic the “#1” hospital in the world I thought they would be understanding but I guess it’s all for money 😢

How do you feel? Are you in any pain?
@annadaae26 not anymore! every now and then, I'm the slightest bit sore (if i overdid it), but I've completely recovered
i’m about to hit a year out, it’s so nice to hear about other people like me

How can anyone say you have awful posture when your spine is fused literally straight?!? smh. Thank you for this video.

Your hair ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤ and you in total ☺️🥰🥰🥰
Do you do physical therapy still as a preventative measure? Did docs recommend it? Also, have you ever had a disc herniation since the surgeries?
What do you think of the rib resection surgery to reduce the rib hump? Was this offered to you by your surgeon?
How long did it take for the pain to go away for you after the operation?
❤❤❤
😊😊
I have mild scoliosis
hi!
Hey ❤
@@gracetuttyyour so pretty!
Hii
I clicked immediately
The ad played before and after this video was about back pain and how to do yoga and shit to prevent. This really fucking annoyed me for some reason
