Avengers lost against Thanos because they were very selfish. Wanda and Steve chose not to sacrifice Vision long before Thanos got the time stone. Quill hit Thanos out of anger for Gamora rather than waiting 5 mins before they took the gauntlet off, Tony didn't call Steve, Tony chose to fight Thanos on Titan rather than going back to Earth after rescuing Strange. Thanos was prepared to do anything which is why he won.
I bet their unwillingness to give anything up at all was a massive reason why they lost in a lot of those timelines, like it’s very clear Thanos is not invincible.
@tonk3878 FACTS the avengers biggest weakness was not being able to take risk anything to be able to get the win while thanos took any risk that was to his advantage and that’s why he won in Infinity war because of one key advantage he had “Risk”.
